Multiple Platforms Fuudo, EVO 2011 SSF4AE World Champ

I watched it this morning.

I've only watched EVO twice but this year was seriously ridiculous. Congrats to Fuudo but the entire event for me was about how Latif played so well and how Daigo just got absolutely bodied by Poongko. Seriously... when he perfected him in the last round I knew I had witnessed the next EVO moment!

I thought the actual grand final was lackluster compared to the previous matches tbh.

The MvC3 finals were really good as well, a lot of hype matches there as well. :)

Was up enjoying EVO the whole weekend. This EVO really showed how much our (the SRK) community has come that we have people all over that are serious contenders with each other. I'm extremely happy that some people that are more proficient at other games (Latif with Guilty Gear and Fuudo with Virtua Fighter) are finally getting some respect amongst the more mainstream community though.

But like I was saying when I was discussing the win yesterday, you can really see how important it is to have multiple ways of approaching your opponent and how to block under a frame trap filled offense. The first time they fought Latif was bringing it to Fuudo but by the time Finals rolled around, he had already downloaded his stuff and Latif just couldn't make the adjustment.

I could talk for hours about everything that happened but I'll just say this evo was the most refreshing one I've seen in years.

Agreed. It was a blast.

I've noticed that a lot of people are trying to debate which was better: Poongko perfecting Daigo or the Grand Finals match. I liked both. But some are overlooking also that Latif beat Daigo then Poongko to get to the Grand Finals against Fuudo. And Fuudo was amazing.

I also liked how Viscant came back into the fighting games scene and won MvC3. I was really happy for him.
