Who here has had a French or German oral exam? What did you think of them? Personally, I think the orals are the most horrible exams ever, I freak out, forget things, put random words in, and last time I put a few German words into my French Oral >_>

I had to do the French one, can't for the ife of me rememeber the name of the teacher but he was scary and I shat it :wacky:

It was just awful sat there in a horrible cupboard with an evil tape recorder...they should be banned -__-

Oooh I always used to love German speaking tests. They were always really easy to write for one - just blabbing on about a really simple topic and then converting it into German. I absolutely love speaking German anyway so it was no problem for me. :wacky: Using the correct grammar was easily done too because I speak German all the time to my friends so remember all the rules. xD I just find it a really interesting language, I much prefer German speaking tests to English ones. :wacky:

The tests in our school system weren't bad, actually. It was a rare occurrance if someone didn't attain the top grades. They're sat throughout the year and your final grade for them is calculated as an average from all three (one per unit). We were allowed several weeks to plan what we were going to say, given a specific topic. In some cases, the teacher told us the questions in advance, so we could plan our answers. Then, it was simply memorising the veritable essay and making sure you didn't have a dry mouth when you were called out.

By this time tomorrow, I will be a shadow of my former self D: My French Oral exam is at 9:45, and I haven't revised at all. I'm absolutely shitting it.

Really though. It's an oral test, so they really should just let us read from our books, I don't see why we have to memorise it all -__-

Ah, I remember the days of French oral exams :monster: Yeah, I really hated them too. I was always really nervous because speaking was never my strong point in French. I could always understand the teacher, but blanked when it came to responding. Man I remember all the weird inane speaking situations that were possible on that test. "You are planning a trip to the beach this weekend..." That kind of crap. Ahhh, those were the days.

...And now I have a Japanese oral test coming up. *Sobs* It's making French look a little like a cakewalk.

I made it up when I went in there, she said it sounded like a 'B', I was amazed to be honest. The thing is they tell you to revise but when you are put in that situation I can gurantee most people will forget what they'd revised because of the pressure :wacky:

I wouldn't worry about it too much to be honest, and when you've done your orals...buuuuuuuuuuurn all the papers with French memories...as I did with my German :monster:

Oral exams in general are horrible. Throw in a foreign language, and I'd be completely screwed.

Had to do a few oral exams for Spanish class a few years back. I passed from memorizing vocabulary and stuff like that. When it came to actually speaking the language, I was terrible.

I remember my French oral exam. It went extremely well, I got an A! It really wasn't that difficult and since I aced every test throughout the year, I knew I'd do well so I wasn't nervous. Plus, my teacher wasn't intimidating at all.
