I was wondering if anyone knew of free forum makers that resemble Vbulliten at all.

I've tried InvisionFree, ZetaBoards, ProBoards, Forumation and a few others. But none of them get the visual beauty like VB.

So, does anyone have any good forum starters?

I would have mentioned the first three on your list. Personally, I think you're going to find it really difficult to find a free forum software than resembles anything like VB, as VB has a lot of effort put into it so in return they want money. Good luck on finding one, but I think you're going to find it difficult finding a free one that is as exceptional as VB or IPS.

Most forums are basically packages in which of course they are predesigned by templates or style sheets. Of course these look spiffy, but given the time and effort, you can of course do better than these, it's just most people would rather rely on popular forum schemes in order to get them by than do the developing themselves.

There are free forums out there like Pearl. I mean these aren't bad, but you have to know exactly what you are doing.. in which gets confusing for beginners.
