Final Fantasy XIII 360 Losing 15GB

Analysis of the content of the Blu-ray disc housing Final Fantasy XIII on the PS3 suggests some unpleasant compromises may be in store for the Xbox 360 version, in spite of assurances to the contrary and what many suspect to be reductions in graphical quality on the PS3 version in order to keep both versions identical.

The BD containing the game amounts to 38GB, whilst the Xbox 360 version has already been confirmed as being packed onto 3 DVD discs (offering an absolute maximum of 25GB or so).

Add to this the fact that each disc will have to duplicate key game resources and the amount of space available to the Xbox 360 version drops even further…

However, concerns over a crippled Xbox 360 version are misplaced – of the 38GB of data on the disc, only 8GB is game data, the rest being given over to sumptuous CG movies, leading to the promise that the in-game elements will be “mostly” identical, whilst the movies simply enjoy far lower data rates to compensate, an admittedly dubious consolation.

But all the 360 version is losing is memory right. Still same cutscenes but with lower souns cause we dont support blu ray. Thats ok I can take that. Plus Im just doing this to try a FF rpg on 360 for the first time. Who knows maybe ill even buy the ps3 version one day but I doubt it

I feel a little bad since I've been planning to get the PS3 version since day 1, so I'm kind of smiling that the PS3 doesn't appear to be at a loss xD

I don't plan on buying a PS3, until its officially confirmed that vs13 is PS3 only, is vs13 is PS3 only, ill buy a PS3, then buy Star Ocean International, FFXIII & FFvsXIII.. I just wish 360 could run BR

Pretty much, the game will be the same but you'll lose the quality of the audio and cutscenes
