Okay, here's the situation, I am on Chapter 5 and my characters are around level 36. Is this an average level around this time in the game? Also, where is a good place to level around here (relatively weak monsters, good amount of EXP, hopefully good amount of AP)?

I've always found the final dungeon to be the best place. My sister (who is also a good Final Fantasy Fan) Said the thunder plains cause the enemies were weaker and it was easier to beat them. I didn't think the exp was good but what ever./

The Thunder Plains dungeon. The one where you have to open the walls. I found that A VERY handy place to level. Partly cos the EXP isn't bad and you typically get groups of 3/4 machines to fight at any one time.

This is where I level up on Chapter 5 typically. Give it a try and see if it's fer you =D

Sweet as. Oh yeah before I forget, my characters are doing a measly(?) ~450 damage (Rikku as a Thief pulls down the average) each. Should I be worried? Because I am currently doing the Bikanel mission and time and time again I have been schooled over and over by that 3 piece boss (Angry Manu or something). I found a walkthrough and found out that he has 6 digit HP! I don't want a strategy, I just wanna know good places to power level. Thanks guys.

Definitely. ^

The final dungeon of the game is fairly good, for the average player. For others, the lower levels of the Via Infinito can net some great EXP, as well as Fiend Colony.

As long as your main attacker dresspheres are well levelled, like Dark Knight, Samurai, Warrior, you don't need to be any higher then level 50 for the final bout. Around about that level anyway. Make sure your attackers do at least 2000+ by the time they get to the final bouts.

Thanks guys.. I finished the game already (yesterday) and my characters were Lvls: 51 (Y), 52 (R), 53 (P). Unfortunately, I did not do Via Infinito, which I thought I would. I just couldn't be bothered going through all those levels. My characters were doing ~1500 damage each. I pretty much just trained in the bit before the Farplane (where Dark Shiva, Anima and Magus Sisters reside) and the Thunder Plains dungeon. But the Floral Fallal dressphere really saved me during the Vegnagun Torso and Head battles.
