Can someone please help me?, I finished installing the game, and I'm at Disc 2 already. At first, the sound effects are working fine, but when I got to Disc 2 the sound effects doesnt work anymore (the bg music is fine). Does someone know how to fix that? :[

First of all i'll move this to the help booth for you ^_^

Secondly, are you sure you haven't tampered with the sound settings? If not it's probably a fault in the disk, a very minor one though so it should still be playable :)

I checked the sound settings and it still the same. the game is still playable. I tried the disk one if there's sound effects in it, but its the same as the disk two. I dont think the disk has a problem, because when I move the cursor there's no sound (at the start game & load game). There should be sound in it right? :[, but It's working fine at first ;___;

Hmm... This isn't a burnt copy is it?

It's obviously a compatibility issue with your computers "newer" Operating System and hardware, keep in mind that this game came out when Windows 98 was just released and I've heard all kinds of problems getting the sound and video working properly under Windows XP... Far worse in Vista.

My best advice would be Googleing "FFVIII software patches".

- Good luck, I hope you're able to find a fix it.

There is a patch for FFVIII for PC....and it actually fixes some sound issues. It is called squeanvpatch or something like that. I hope it helps you.
But as far as I'm concerned...I wouldn't consider the lack of sound a problem....the game has no voices so what's the problem?? If you want a soundtrack I bet your winamp can help you a lot. As for sound effects...well...not such a loss there either.
