Final Fantasy V help please!

I'm currently having a second attempt at playing through FFV because first time around, i couldn't beat Atomos. No matter what i did, he always ended up kicking my arse. Is there any specific tips or anything that i can use to kill him and avoid having the same trouble second time round?

Cheap way to do it is to have two blue mages and have one cast dark spark and right after have the other cast lvl 5 death. Or if you want a challenge you could make use of sleep which is the only status he's vaulnerable to. Just to note since he's a large creature it wont last long so your best bet is to use mystic knight and sleep blade.

Is that all i needed to do? Urg, i suddenly feel very stupid... Oh well, thank you for the advice, Gamegeeks. I'll try either of those strategies as soon as i get back to that point in the game. Thanks!

Np, I tend to use the sleep method since it's one of the few bosses in the game that can actualy be a challenge.
