I have started writing a Final Fantasy merger, one that links all the stories from the games together. kindof like kingdom hearts. it centers around Gilgemeshes excape from the void and his contact with Odins sword the Zantetsuken in FF8, as he has appeared (as the same chatracter), in every ff game after, and recently in the remakes of ff 1 and 5.

anyhow... the main characters are going to be based off of a zodiac/jobclass theme and there will be 12 male characters and 12 female characters as the player or main characters. each of these 24 characters will have a diferent jobclass archetype. an example on an archetype would be a black mage. virtually every ff game has a black mage "archetype".

based on descicions you make in the game the "player characters" split up into different groups and remain that way till the end of the game.
not only that but these groups become larger when visiting an FF world. As the main characters or NPCs from that series or others will join you to become a larger party. this is important because of the tactical placement of archetypes as previously exsisting characters already have established archetypes.
monks for example.
Tifa is a "monk". a barehanded fighter, uses "gloves" as a weapon, she can however use materia.
then there is Amarant.
Amarant is a "monk". however he can use throw as an ability. Throw is an ability ninjas often have in the game.

this is well and all.
I think that some of us knows this.

BUT, was there a request in this.
a question perhaps?

ifnot, it can be cool to read this thingie when it is done ^^

yah actually there is a question. I need help with the Archetypes...

I had to go do something so I just psted what I had.

so I'm thinking

Black mage
White mage
Blue mage
Red mage
Dark knight
Paladin
Ninja
Samurai
Dragoon
Warrior
Machinist
Summoner

each with a possible secondary job ability. unique stuff. like the afore mentioned Metal summoner is a combined summon/bard jobclass.
I'm thinking male. so he can be our first "archetype" now he just needs a name.

any ideas or suggestions would be helpful.
