Has anyone seen the original artwork for Final Fantasy IV when it came out on the Super Famicom? There's a read-haired knight, a blond girl (most likely Rosa), a green-cladded ninja (Edge?), a stock black mage, a stock white mage, and a Chocobo. What's up with this?

LOL the first guy looks like the warrior for FFI when it was on the NES.

I think this is just a promotional image and they used images of character designs from the past games so they would be more familur to customers.

I agree with the idea that they were using characters from the other games to be familiar with the customers.

I think it was just to show that it was going to be a Traditional FF game with the same Classes and Features as the past 3 on NES.

It could have been a drawing they used before thay even made the game.
Or maybe to draw people in to thinking "Hey! We get Jobs and Classes Again!"

That'd be false advertisement.
They'd play FF4 and say "There are no Job or Classes in this"

Then FF would lose alot of fans.

Is this the image you were refering to? Because it is kinda weird....and it doesn't make sense...

Nope, it makes no sense, but it's chibi and awesome regardless.

I'd still like to know more about this...

Don't really know if there's anything more to know about it...information as to why it was done is probably scarce, if it exists at all.
