I had asked someone to post on this essay a couple months ago (I forget who I asked), and I am sure they forgot too.

So now that my schedule has settled down a bit I thought I would start up again, even if who haven't read the book or chapter your comments are appreciated.

In this chapter we finally move on from Gaia hypothesis and we talk about personal ethics. The overriding theme through this chapter is whether it is ever ok to "use" someone. Which is seen over and over again in the FF series, for example Kuja uses Queen Brahne and Ellone uses Squall.

The book talks about various people's theories on virtue ethics, and comes to the conclusion that Aristole and Nietzsche had the least flawed views.

The chapter ends with a wonderful question: whom do you most aspire to be like Aeris (always respect another's autonomy) or Cloud (live your life to the fullest potential).

My question for those out there is which type of hero do you prefer in your games, and which in your real life?

Personally I prefer a Cloud in my gaming and Aeris in my personal life. I always respect another's autonomy and I highly value that in real life- so when I play games I enjoy the opposite.
