Fight Quale / Quan?

you mean how do you fight him?
or you mean how do you beat him?
meh to fight him get 99 of every frog
to fight him well hes easy but has the most hp in the game
 
Just capture 99 frogs in the Marsh's when you are out journeying the world. Move from one Marsh to the next. Once you capture 99, Quale man comes out or you ahve to go visit him or something and he challenges you to a fight and if you win I guess you get Quina's Ultimate...Fork.
 
Any idea how powerful it is, that is the only one I don't have so far myself. I think I need to capture like 15 more frogs or something. It's been a while.

I believe it has the STR value of 77, and the ability to inflict stop on the target. It's around the range of 77, anyway.

As for fighting Quan, I've only ever bothered to do it once, seeing as I find more worth in Quina's superior Blue Magic. Devastating stuff.

I'm not overly surprised at Quan being a slight pushover. Wearing that lovely Ribbon owns in this fight.
 
he has the highest hp but hes weak
necron is probably the second hardest then trance kuja
 
ozmas random cause of his meteor attack (it does 1-9999 damage)
usally 9999 but it can be avoided :)

The only way Ozma could really beat you is by chance getting a max power Meteor to fall on you, or by screwing you all over with a bajillion different status effects. Otherwise he's a piece of piss--in the metaphorical sense of the phrase.

He's got the Holy spell, and Curse. Only... Curse deals all the status effects AND a reasonable amount of damage. I think I recall a Flare Star? I could've been dreaming or something, but he can attack both singular and multiple characters.

Making your characters immune to things like Venom/Poison and Confusion are essential if you want to walk out of that battle rather than running for your life. He does a Mini thing on you too... that was annoying.

So yeah, he's only difficult for the status effects he inflicts. In my opinion, at any rate. Necron has a few similar-style attacks, but is no way a patch on Ozma.
 
if he does flare star it wont really matter cause it is a percentage based attaack isnt it?

Well of course it'll matter... just not put the player into a state of panic. It COULD finish you off though, seeing as it does pretty decent damage if your level is maxed. Oh, and it's based on your level. : p

Demi is the only percentage-based attack in IX. I could rarely ever get it to work on monsters though... sodding thing.
