So yeah, as the title says I've finally gotten into the Archtype Steppe. I absolutely love this place because it reminds me of the older, more traditional FF games. I'm pretty sure I could spend days here just exploring and leveling up. Thus, my questions await.

First thing - should I stay here and farm CP until my three main roles for my characters are maxed out? Monsters seem to give very good EXP compared to what I've saw earlier in the game. The Flans, Dogs (don't know their name), and a few other creatures are also incredibly easy while giving me a fair amount of EXP. I don't have a problem with farming if that's anyone's concern. I'm in no hurry to finish the story just yet. :)

Second question... I've read from a few different sources that it's best to start upgrading your weapons at around Ch.11. I'm finally there so should I start trying to get some good stuff for my weapons? If so, where is my best bet to get some high EXP spoils in the general area?

And of course, the last question for now. Should I go ahead and complete as many hunts as possible? I've done the first two and both where really fun. It reminds me a lot of FFXII, which is awesome.

On a side note, the Behemoth Kings are a pain. Thanks in advance everyone.

I sat here for a while and just levelled up a little bit (was having problems with the next area). The Flans, the skeleton lizard type things, and there's some worshippy type things in this area, too (they're really small) All are pretty easy and give good exp.

There's an area all the way to the left-ish that has a few treasure chests and a lot of those little guys. It is REALLY easy to get a Pre Emptive Strike on them due to their low sight range, so take advantage of it, and their Phys. DEF is so low that a couple Blitz' from Fang or Lightning usually takes all of them out really fast.

Any other monsters (I've tried them all) usually kill you pretty quickly.

There's alos a King Behemoth and another fairly large monster towards the next area (right before). They're fighting with each other, so get a Pre Emptive Strike on the Behemoth and beat the crap out of it with (I think) Water magic and two COM's. Soon will you Launch it into the air. Make sure it stays up there, or it'll come back down and heal itself for more than 99,999HP. You have to beat it when it's stagger'd and in the air, or you're dead, as it will come back down and pretty much wipe out your party. The other monster there is fairly easy to stagger, but it doesn't heal itself and it only physical attacks, so it's a fairly easy fight.

There is a Behemoth to the right of the entrance of the Steppe that I've been fighting. He's all alone and it's really easy to get a Preemptive Strike on him. I stagger him and blast him with COM/COM/RAV and he's dead before his stagger runs out. It nets me 4000 CP which is almost enough to move one node (at this point some require 6000CP for me).

I've also went on with the hunts. I'm on the 4th hunt and so far they're all manageable.

Interesting, I'll have to check him out on my next walkthrough of that area. I think I noticed him but never bothered pursuing, he's blocking a treasure sphere, isn't he?

No actually he isn't. After you enter the Steppe for the first time (forgot the name of the place where you was before, sorry) take a right while almost hugging the level's wall. You'll see him just a tiny bit from the save point (you will have to walk several yards before he appears). When he does appear he will just be pacing back and forth, clueless to the world.
