Final Fantasy XIII Eidolon Guide

COMPLETED

Names contain spoilers so i've tagged them, don't hover the mouse over the black if you don't want to see the spoilers.

Eidolon #1

Eidolon Name:
Shiva

Notes: Yields to those who amass chain bonuses
Yields to those who defend against and endure attacks
CANNOT be provoked

Defeating Eidolon #1 is very easy, simply Paradigm Shift to the Sentinel role and keep using Auto Battle, then press Square/X when the Gestalt Meter is full and the Eidolon will be captured.

Eidolon #2

Eidolon Name:
Odin

Notes: Yields to those who amass chain bonuses
Yields to those who heal the wounded

Eidolon #2 was quite difficult and took me a while to figure out how to beat.
I tried multiple Paradigm's for this battle and found a great set and won the battle within 3 minutes.
Set your paradigms to
Leader: Medic | Member: Synergist
Leader: Ravager | Member: Ravager
Leader: Medic | Member: Medic

For this battle, enter the battle with as many buffers as you can (Pressing LB or L1 before the battle)
Once in the battle, if you don't have buffers, for a few rounds let your members set some buffers such as protect and shell out, then when Odin slows his attacks switch to Ravager/Ravager. Once your HP is about half way, quickly switch to Medic/Medic to tank & heal until his attacks slow again, then change back to Ravager/Ravager & rinse & repeat until defeated.

Eidolon #3

Eidolon Name:
Brynhildr

Notes: Yields to those who amass chain bonuses
Yields to those who strengthen their allies

This Eidolon can seem hard but this battle can be finished quite swiftly if you can predict it's actions.

For this battle, you will just thrown into it, so when it starts, press start and hit retry to setup your Paradigms.

Leader: Synergist | Member: Saboteur
Leader: Ravager | Member: Ravager
Leader: Synergist | Member: Medic

When you start the battle, have the first paradigms equipped and keep hitting him with debuffs like deprotect etc etc whilst buffing up your own team, if your health gets low, switch to synergist/medic and then back to synergist/saboteur.
Debuffs and buffs increase it's gestalt meter quite fast, but once all debuffs/buffs have been used, switch to ravager/ravager and hit him hard until his bar is full.
Switch to Synergist/Medic if you health gets low then back to Ravager/Ravager when its full, rinse and repeat and keep hitting it with magic.

Eidolon #4

Eidolon Name:
Bahamut

Notes: Yields to those who amass chain bonuses
Yields to those who defend against and endure attacks
Yields to those who weaken and debilitate their enemies

This battle can be quite easy, as in to say, it can be over VERY quickly.

My setup was

Leader: Sentinel | Member: Medic | Member: Medic
Leader: Sentinel | Member: Ravager | Member: Ravager
Leader: Saboteur | Member: Synergist/Sabouter | Member: Ravager

If you need to setup Paradigms, just press start and hit retry.

Pound as many debuffs into the enemy as possible for the first part of the battle and if possible, get some buffs on yourself.
This should raises the Gestalt meter quite a bit.
After that change to Sentinel/Ravager/Ravager and keep hitting with strong and effective magical attacks.
When the Eidolon hits your party into the air, change to your Sentinel/Medic/Medic to get your HP back.
If you rinse and repeat with this technique, the Gestalt meter should be up in no time.

Eidolon #5

Eidolon Name:
Alexander

Notes: Yields to those who amass chain bonuses
Yields to those who heal the wounded
Yields to those who strengthen their allies

This battle is tricky, VERY tricky.
You have to make sure you've got adequate protection.

My Setup was

Leader: Ravager | Member: Ravager | Member: Saboteur
Leader: Medic | Member: Medic | Member: Sentinel
Leader: Ravager | Member: Ravager | Member: Synergist/Commando

You want your Rav/Rav/Sab in first, to use debuffs on the Eidolon and keep a chain going, this should fill up the gestalt meter quite a bit.
If your having trouble, switch to Rav/Rav/Syn to give yourself and extra bit of defense.
If your health gets low, switch to Med/Med/Sen
Just keep hitting and chaining and make sure your debuffs are active, the gestalt meter should be up in no time.

Eidolon #6

Eidolon Name:
Hecantoncheir

This is a fairly easy battle, probably the easiest Eidolon battle.
When the battle starts just hit start and click retry so you can set paradigm's up.

My setup was

Leader: Saboteur | Member: Commando
Leader: Saboteur | Member: Sentinel
Leader: Ravager | Member: Commando
Leader: Medic | Member: Sentinel

When the battle starts just keep pounding debuffs whilst your member keeps pounding the Eidolon with your attacks. Debuffing, very quickly loads up the Gestalt meter, if you feel you ain't raising it fast enough, choose a Sab/Sab instead of Sab/Com
After like 2 or 3 rounds, switch to Sab/Sen because the Eidolons attacks can be VERY devastating.
After the flurry of attacks, switch to Med/Sen to heal up.
If the Eidolon does its charge move, you can either debuff like crazy or switch to Rav/Com, I find both as equally effective.
Rinse & Repeat until defeated.

Mods/Admins, please move this thread if necessary.

1st, I have no idea who sycon is.
2nd, Maybe you should CP train for a little? Get some CP and grow your abilities
3rd, Try throwing a medic in your team permanently & only switch paradigms when your health is REALLY low
