Help FFXIII: About upgrading weapons

Hello,
ive read a lot about upgrading weapons, alas too late.
Im at chapter 9 ATM and Ive upgraded most of my weapons to at least lvl 3 and Lighting's gladius to lvl 10. I did waste some resources on them.
And damn, I have about 2000Gil cause I didnt know I was supposed to sell credit chips :D

Am I screwed, or will I have a chance to grind ?
Also second question, should I just stop upgrading weapons for nwo and wait till chapter 12, then get the suggested weapons, or , particulary for lightning, continue with the Gladius ?
I hope I wont have trouble continuing the game with these weapons..
 
You'll be fine using gladius for now, I hadn't really began to upgrade weapons until later than you are, mainly because I didn't have the gil to do anything significant. If you want to upgrade then go for it, but you'll be perfectly fine with what you've got now :)

If you are planning on getting all the trophies for FFXIII then it is needed to upgrade all the weapons so it doesn't matter if you already upgraded some right now. Just like Relinquish I also started to upgrade later so the weapons you have now are perfect. In chapter 12 and 13 you have perfectly the chance to get a lot of components and money for upgrading.
 
Ok, I dont want to start another thread so another related question -

How the heck do i choose a weapon which I want to upgrade ???
I mean so many choices and all I see are the stats and a passive ability...how the heck am I supposed to know wat Im upgrading into ? wat am I looking for ? GWAAAH !!!
 
Since you are not at the end yet you still miss many weapons (which you can still buy of course but that will spare money then)
Weapons with abilities like improved debuffing and cure will be very handy for some tough battles, but those will give less magic and strength than the other weapons with no abilities or negative abilities.

But I think it's good to refer you to this faq. It really helps me a lot too but I think it's the best to start using it when you're in chapter 12/13 as you will get lots of money and components. This faq shows what catalysts are needed for the weapons to upgrade it to a stronger version and what the maximum strength and magic will be. Also what effect each weapon will have. Hope you can make your choice then on what weapons you will end up using. ^^

You will be fine! I didn't start my true Gil and CP grinding until chapter 13. Tho there are alot of grinding chances in chapter 11 and 12 as well :). But Chapter 13 is when I got my Growth Egg....and to get that well there's a few Missions you will need to do lol.

As for Weapons....if you do mission 46 You will get Gilgamesh Inc which sells you the weapons you can upgrade to become Ultimate Weapons and Lightnings Omega Weapon. To get Mission 46 you must do the Titan Trials which starts with mission 35.
