Few questions - if you close a gate does that mean you can redo everything in that world again? Including quests and rewards and chests? I actually haven't tried this yet - can you get multiple Wild Artifacts this way?

I don't think you can redo quests for things like wild artifacts or fragments, but you can repeat the storyline missions again, the feature is mostly for making different decisions on the live trigger and for using the paradox scope to try and get paradox endings
You can replay most of the story, but some events are skipped. You can't redo most quests as far as I know. All fragments, artifacts, ally monsters, character stats, fragments and items are retained even if you close the gate.
You cannot reclaim any treasures. Thus you can't get extra wild artifacts.
There are actually 10 wild artifacts obtainable, just enough for 10 optional gates in the game. Some artifacts are very well hidden. There's one sold at serendipity too.
If you can't find these wild artifacts, try googling for their locations.
