When does Rin become available to sign for the Aurochs?

I'm at the Thunder Plains now and been pressing square on him but the scout thing isn't coming up...

i think he becomes available to join the Auroch's when you gain access to the Airship (permanently) but i could be wrong as i never really signed Rin, as all of my team were heavily high levels as i tend to go on Blitzball binges right before you kill Seymour Guado for the first time and you loose the ability t play blitzball.

My team are between levels 13 and 16 at the moment, apart from Pah Guado who's level 6 and Miyu who's level 1.

I've played through FFX quite a few times but never signed Rin once, so want to see what he's like. Plus the Al Bhed are pretty fast usually so it could help.

Only time I ever tried to sign him was when he was on the airship, so if you can't get him now, I assume you just have to wait til then...I can't remember if I ever actually bothered signing him or if he had already been snapped up by someone else..... >_>

Wakka is availabe to recruit the first time you go on the Airship, when Yuna is about to marry Seymour. Rin is available when you get the Airship after killing Yunalesca.
