Do you guys think it is. It got one of the top 10 most romantic games. Lulu likes wakka and the Tidus and Yuna scene. do not put spoilers please. I am currently at seymour flux so talk about every scene before flux not after.

Well it is more romantic than alot of games but there tends to be some love scenes alot of rpgs or some other affection between characters. But I do think you have a bit of a point as with the love scenes.

i think RPG's are better when theres mush involved! thats why FFXII did'nt make it !

Sure. It makes a refreshing change not to see some soppy love drama. VII's was a piss poor excuse, VIII's I'd rather forget about, IX, debatable, X, by X, I just didn't care, and hoped for a game which actually centered on something else. X it's a bit romantic, but I think the love stories before X have been..."better."

Well, sure, FFX has romance in it, but I wouldn't really call it romantic. The only romantic scene that really stood out in my mind was the underwater kiss scene. But other then that, there weren't really any parts of it that made me go "Ohh, that's so sweet :>" or anything. But sure, there was a decent amount of romance between the characters in it. I wouldn't really say the game was romantic overall though.

I think it has it's mushy parts but as a whole Iwouldn't say it was a very romantic game tbh. I'l never really like that water snogging scene but that's about the only really romantic part in there, sure there are other little factors but nah, I wouldn't call it a romantic game, although if it's subtle, I tend to miss it, like the whole thing with Locke & Celes in VI. That went right over my head >_>

FFX is one of the most romantic games? o_O
Erm.. I played it not because of the love, but to beat Sin. ^^ Seriously, the romances between Yuna/Tidus and Lulu/Wakka were a kind of sidestory for me.
That's why I'll surely never play FFX-2 to the end: There is TOO much love around, because the whole game is based on that. X.x

Shortly said: I don't care about romantic in FFX for it is about beating Sin, nothing more and nothing less.

Usually I view romance in games as distracting from any immediate storylines. However, FFX was a very good game and the story was somewhat original. Blitzball was AMAZING and I must say just the right amount of romance was added into this game to make it great.

7: Cloud is attracted to both Tifa and Aeris.
8: Squall and Rinoa are attracted to each other, as is Quistis to Squall. And Irvine to Selphie.
9: Zidane and Garnet, enough said.

Saying X is the most romantic due to people falling for each other is abit bizzare. Youre ignoring what all Final Fantasys have; love stories. Its one of their main elements.

Final Fantasy 10 does seem a tad bit more romatic. but what i think makes it "feel" more romatic is the fact that it is the first FF game on the ps2 so the graphics are better looking, giving the characters more of a human feel. Like the characters themselves are actual PEOPLE with voices and all. Also it made my crush for rikku seem almost .... real? lol

It is romantic indeed. There is the Tidus loves Yuna and vice versa, Lulu and Wakka who might, because Lulu loved Wakka's brother. Then there is also Seymour who liked Yuna, and was even the first dude to kiss her. Poor Tidus had to watch Seymour kiss Yuna with a gun pointed at his head. :(

it's true.
love stories are one of the elements of Final Fantasy.
although i don't like love stories, it is needed for a story to have a "life".
i really like the Final Fantasy X and X-2. even though many people don't like Final Fantasy X-2, i still enjoy playing it. For me this series is better than any other.

Agree with what u said, but FFXII have no love story to it.

There's some nice romance between Tidus and Yuna, but nothing compares to the romance of Squall and Rinoa and Laguna and Raine. Quite honestly, in my honest opinion, I think Final Fantasy VIII is more romantic than X.

I couldn't agree more.

Most Final Fantasy games do have some sort of love story in them dating all the way back to Final Fantasy V, with Bartz and Rena (although as small as it might've been, it was there). VI had Locke and Rachel, then Lock/Celes/Terra. VII had Zack and Aerith, Cloud and Tifa. IX had Zidane and Garnet. Then X had Tidus and Yuna. All of these actually had love in them, except for X. I mean, what did Tidus truly know about Yuna? I think it was just infatuation. It was a nice romance, but it compares nothing to what I'm about to discuss.

Final Fantasy VIII by all means, hands down, eliminates every other Final Fantasy game in the race for a romantic feel in every sense of the word. Squall starts off as a very quiet person who really doesn't talk or care about anyone other then himself and doing what he must do, and Rinoa starts off having a crush on Siefer. As the story progresses, Rinoa still has feelings for Siefer because of the way he'd act around her, but she starts to have some more feelings for Squall. As time goes on, Squall somewhat learns how to accept others into his life, and edventually accepts Rinoa as a part of his. Once Rinoa is lost in space, and Squall rescues her, she falls madly in love with him, and he with her, because that's when he decides to not allow another person to walk in his life, and then leave. But once Rinoa has to do what she must do (as a part of her becoming a sorceress), and Squall loving Rinoa, the tables completely turn, and Squall acts on love to rescue and do anything to protect her.

Now that's the main romance of the game. But one often looked past and never acknowledged, is the Laguna Raine romance. I've explained in another thread (I'm not sure if it's still here) my beliefs for Laguna and Raine being Squall's parents. That, if made into a game (or anuy type of story telling device, for that matter) could be possibly be as, or more romantic then the Squall Rinoa one.

So in conclusion, yes Final Fantasy X had a decent romance aspect to it, but Final Fantasy VIII completely trumphs it in every way possible.

Thats a very good point! I'll b honest i LOVE a bit of romance it almost makes me want to go on even more to see how the romance will progress through the game. If it was not for romance in the final fantasy games some of them would not have been the same at all eg: in VIII Squall was trying to save rinoa which made for gameplay if he had not had feelings for her he would never have saved her etc etc (well he might have but thats not the point ha) As for X i loved it My favourite scene has to be the end on the ship.. You could feel yunas pain at having to leave tidus. Like romance or not i dont think the games would be the same without it at all.
