Help FFX - Aurochs Reels.

I have been having a hard time getting the Aurochs Reels to appear as a Tournament prize in Blitzball. I have the Attack Reels (got them when I first got to Mi'ihen Highroad) and the Status Reels (when I first got to Macalania Woods). I thought the gap between Macalania Woods and the Airship would be enough to get 450 battles, but apparently not. I have tried saving three separate files for the leagues round 9, 10, and afterwards (doing those again to see if the prize after the league will be different). Even resetting the PS2, and it's just not showing up. Am I that unlucky or am I doing something wrong?

I'm getting tired of Blitzball already and I'm not even going for the Jupiter Sigil yet. :rage:
 
It's a tournament prize. Not a league prize.

I think you already mentioned you were playing tournament though. So... not sure.
 
What I mean is, after I complete a league, the tournament will become available, and its prize hasn't been the Reels. I have even been checking when it's available throughout the league.
 
You don't need to do the league for them to appear, the tournament doesn't become available when you beat the league. The way it works is after each tournament the next tournament becomes available after you access the blitzball screen five more times. So access the blitzball screen 4 more times save, then open the blitzball screen. If it doesn't appear as the prize, reload till you get it. If it doesn't appear after a while then you haven't fought 450 battles I guess.

Also it's five times straight after the tournament becomes unavailable, so be careful.
 
I didn't know about that, a tournament appearing after entering the Blitzball screen a certain number of times. That's interesting. Man, I thought I would of had the 450 battles by now from all the stuff I have done in the game, but I guess not. -_- I'll keep trying, more battles I guess. It's gotta show up at some point!
 
Yeah that's how it works, let's say you complete a tournament and choose not to continue playing blitzball. The fifth time you enter the blitzball screen afterwards a new tournament will show up, for me the reels showed up straight away, or at least on the second tournament I tried.
 
It worked! I went through a tournament, kept entering the Blitzball menu afterwards for a new one to appear, and the Aurochs Reels came up!
