Heres where we create a tiers list of all our FFVII characters, first of all to make it fair we assume that the event at the end of disk one never happened - so that comapring the Characters is fair and Equal.

The Tier Groups are Godlike - For the insanly Strong Character Top - for the really strong characters Middle - for the less than amazing character and Bottom - for the poop characters.


God Tier

Cloud - He is the strongest character in FFVII - and by the time you get omnislash he can pretty much kill everything ecept Ruby and Emerald in one Hit.

Aeris - Two Words - Great Gospel, come on admit it - had she been in the whole game she would have been in your final team, with her limit break and magic Aeris could easily cripple even the infamous ruby and emerald weapons - because remember - A good offense is based on a good defense.

Top Tier

Cid - Strone of the strongest characters physically, with an amazing set of limits - Cid and his ultimate weapon and limit can pwn most things

Barret - Focuses on strength far more than any other characters, is one of the best attackers in the game and is invaluable at the start - his limit breaks have the potential to be more damaging than clouds

Vincent - pretty all round character - with amazing Limit breaks - only downside is you cant control him during his limit breaks

Mid Tier

Tifa - now i was torn here between putting her in top tier or Mid tier, but in the end i decided to place her in Mid tier - because her limit breaks are risky, not only do they hit for less than everyone elses theres a chance you will miss, plus it doesnt hit for 9999 multiple times

Yuffie - Speedy character, pretty strong and decent with magic - extremely powerful limit breaks and good back row character - in mid tier because her HP stat sucks.

Red XIII - An all round fighter - is good with Attacking and magic, sadly however his limit breaks are pretty sucky, if they made them a better he would be in Top tier.

Low Tier

Yep You guessed it :

cait sith - His only decent stat is his HP - his other stats are either average or Sub-par - unreliable limit break makes him a dangerous gamble to use.


Well thats my Tier list, do you agree with it? disagree with it? make your own so we can all compare :P and please be civil, i dont want any comments like ZOMG *Inserts name* SUCKS LYK MAD!!! They should be in bottom tier!!! Instead of explaining like a luntaic why you disagree with someone explain calmly and rationally.
 
I would move RED XIII down a tier and move CAIT SITH up a tier. PERSONALLY EVEN THO MANY THOUGHT CAIT SITH SUCKED, HE ALWAYS MANAGED TO PULL OFF ALL THE RIGHT MOVES AT THE RIGHT TIME REGARDING HIS LIMIT BREAK.
AND RED XIII, I THOUGHT HIS LIMITS WERE RUBBISH AND HIS ATTACK WEAK
 
I agree 100% with the first post. I really can't say too much more xD

I've never really used Yuffie in battle to many times cause I was never impressed, and the few times I used Cait made me regret it xD

Vincent's magic stats are like, one of the highest in the game, so I usually had him dealing with all my magix needs, and it always seemed to work out quite well. Plus, later if you equip the double cut materia to him, he starts to become a pretty good offensive player as well xD

Barret was indeed uber important early in the game. His limit breaks owned. Cid too actually.

RedXIII is maybe the only one I'd question with that list.......I found his limit breaks to be pretty helpful actually, especially his lvl 4.
 
I liked using Cait because of his high HP, his attack was decent and his magic was decent. If they gave him proper limits I'd say people might have used him more.

Red actually turns out to have the highest stats in the game when levelled up (without using sources).

And Yuffie is also a powerhouse. Her final limit is nothing special but Doom of the living is pretty solid.

Cid is decent too. Strong limits.

Vincent isn't my favourite. His limits and his ultimate weapon don't do him justice.

Tifa is also quite strong especially with the final heaven chain.

Barret is also decent because of his long range attack ability + Catastrophe.

Aeris was also okay. Her magic was very good and her attacking was .... fair at times. Her limits were hand (my favourite is still Fury Brand).

Cloud is good but I hate being forced to use the main character all the time :eek:.
 
Red XIII Rocks so many times has his limit breakes saved my ass, specially wih the demon wall. Hes got good stats decent limits like stardust ray and earth rave and just looks cool. He should be moved up to top level atleast.
 
guys one of you try writing your own tier list too :)

and since a few of you have mentioned Tifas limits - i didnt put her in top tier because - and correct me if im wrong - her limits are fairly unreliable and she can only do 9999 7 times tops - which is less than most of the others except maybe vincent and cait sith.
 
Nice one. Im not gonna lie though i honestly think Tifa should move up to top tier. She deals great physical damage. Also each hit doesn't have to deal over 9999 damage because when you chain all her limits together and just get them all off they deal an incredible amount of damage. Even if you miss one or two chains you still deal more damage than most of the characters.

I love Vincent. He's in my top 3 favorite characters but he just doesn't deliver what he needs to. His weapons dont' do him justice on top of the fact that if you use his limit break you dont' have control of him for the rest of the battle. He needs to be mid tier. Please dont' flame me vicent fanboys i love him just as much as you guys do.
 
About Tifas limit - chaining them together if they all hit can only do 9999 damage 7 times - yet cloud Cid and Barret can do 9999 more than 7 times and there limits are more reliable to use - which is why i put them in top tier and tifa in the middle tier.

I can understand where your coming from though :)
 
God Tier:
Cloud: Same as Aeris Gainsborough.

Aeris: Same as Aeris Gainsborough, except I'm tempted to bump her above Cloud just for Great Gospel.

Top Tier:
Cid: I'm partial to the spear-carriers, I must say! Cid is a great character to use in battle, and even without his best weapon he's strong enough for me.

Red XIII: Red XIII was my man for magic. I mean, my... wolf beast for magic. I don't even know if this was a good choice, but on my first playthrough I just went on instinct. I think his Limit Breaks are decent.

Mid Tier:
Barret: Tank! All-purpose fighter. He does damage big enough. Only problem was that I didn't train him to get all of his Limit Breaks until late in the game, so I wasn't inclined to have him on my team using "Grenade Bomb" all the time.

Tifa: She's easy to use and does decent damage, though, for some reason, she ended up with more green Materia equipped than what was necessary from time to time. Same reason as Barret for not rating her higher.

Low Tier:
Yuffie: Don't get me wrong, Yuffie is one of my favorite characters, but I did not like using her. She is fast, but I didn't like her Limit Breaks. At all. I would always put Red XIII or Barret in my party with Cloud and Cid instead.

Cait Sith: Sadly, here he is. I didn't want to put him down here, as I liked to use him with a ton of green Materia and for his HP, but his Limit Break never helped me. At all.
