I wasn't sure where to put this at but anyway here's my problem.

I've been playing Final Fantasy 7 (PS1 version). Everything has been going fine. I get to disc two and to the part where you head to the Northern Crater when Cloud hands back the Black Materia to Sephiroth. The whole FMV sequence of him handing the Black Materia to Sephiroth and the Weapons coming out totally skipped. I did see where Sapphire comes out (just a bit of it and it also showed Tifa and them running across the screen. I can't remember if it's suppose to show them running across the screen while that FMV was going on. And it wasn't the full FMV shown.) It did not act like it was skipping, like whenever it starts to show the FMV and then skips a bit because of something on the disc - none of that. It just didn't show them. Then when Tifa wakes up in Junon,it did not show the scene of where Barret shows her that Meteor has been summoned.

Soo,I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem,if anyone knows what happened or how to fix it, and if this will continue on throughout the game. If it does, then I'll probably just reload an earlier save.

I've never had this happen before and can't understand what would cause it.

It sounds like a rogue error, like, sometimes my PS2 has difficulty reading my FFVII disk. If it's never happened before, it's probably just a random glitch. I wouldn't imagine it would mess up other FMVs, but if it did and you loaded a previous save and STILL had those problems, I'd suggest it would be a problem with your PS1/2/3 or the disk.

Although I haven't heard of FMVs skipping before, so I'm not sure what you should do really.

Thanks for moving this to the correct place. ^_^

Oh. Yeah, it could be that my PS2 just skipped those FMVs because it couldn't read the disc. This is the first time I have played it on my PS2,but I didn't think anything about it. I wonder what causes it to do that. I know it wasn't because of anything being on the disc since the disc is in great condition and my PS2 is really good about handling scratches (it plays through FFVIII at some parts that would skip on my PS1 due to scratches.)

I guess it just didn't want me to see those FMVs. ;p It was like my PS2 just ignored them being on the disc. When does your PS2 have problems reading on your FFVII disc?

I was really looking forward to seeing that WEAPONs scene since it's one of my favorites on there. I told myself that if the FMV where Sapphire attacks Junon didn't show then I would reload a different save. I didn't have to do that though because thankfully my PS2 decided to start acting right.

Thank you for replying. ^_^
