FFVII Beta

So I recently got hold of the origional FFVII Beta version, which was a delight. Obviously not a full game, it was just created to test some of the interfaces etc. It was fun to play and see though, but obviously a bit different to the final version.
Not only did they majorly touch up on the battle system and the GUI, but also the graphics and some characteristics of the characters; Barret stands about 8 feet tall!
Any thought's on this? Any of you played it too?

Wow where did you pick that one up?

I have not played it nor do I know anyone who has. What parts of the final game did it include and how was the battle system different from the final version? Do you have any pics of the the graphics? I'm rather interested to see how they differ from the final version.

I got it on disk from a friend, no idea where he got it though. He's good at finding insider type stuff, lols.
I think it was actually released in Japan along with something else but I can't remember what.
As for pictures, here's some that show the battle sequence. Most of the features are the same, the interface was just changed a little.
The last two pictures are of the character portraits, and the origional save point function, which was character interaction-based.

It just contained various features of the game, as it was only created for testing purposes. Hope these helped

Oooooh, I had an English version of something like this! I got mine with... Parasite Eve 1 or maybe 2. Not sure which, actually. Or maybe it was something else, but it was so fun to play it Some monsters were different, and I think Barret really looked horrible in that one too. I'd love to get my hands on this Japanese demo, it looks so... inferrior which is always fun.

I wonder what your friend got it with...
