(FFVI) Help with Kefka in Narshe

So, I just like wanted to know at what level people tackled the first battle with Kefka at Narshe after all the scenarios and general tips and strategies because I think my characters are underleveled. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Btw, my characters are level 10- 12 (the highest being Sabin and Edgar). Thanks!

I think I was at level 14-16 when I fought Kefka in Narshe.

The best person to have in your party when you fight Kefka is Celes. She can use her Runic ability to draw all of Kefka's ara magic. I used Celes, Locke and Edgar to defeat Kefka in Narshe.

This battle isn't so bad if you know what to do. Levels aren't too important, if you follow the right strategy.

Make one of your groups (the main Kefka-killing group) have Celes and at least one other person for dealing damage. Make your way to Kefka as quickly as possible, using the other two groups to block crucial intersections.

Once your group reaches Kefka, have Celes use Runic repeatedly. Kefka won't be able to use any magic, which is most of his arsenal. Use the rest of the party to attack, game over.

I always fight everything...I'm fairly sure you can steal something ok from the last soldier guy who's running back & forth between you & Kefka...I always make weird team splits...Terra & Celes (Team Magic!), Sabin & Edgar (Team Kick Your ASS All Over The Place), & Cyan, Locke & Gau (Team...uh...everybody else!)...Oddly enough, I usually take Kefka out with that last team because I like to steal from everything...>_>

Kefka's only magic worth fearing would be Poison...maybe Confuse...but he really doesn't really have enough HP to make it matter...

I beat that bugger using terra, locke and cyan.
they were between levels 13 and 15 I think.

I also beat every soldier coming my way. It helped to level a wee bit and the amount of gp they dropped was fair also.

Terra was there for the healing spells and sometimes magic damage.
Locke beat the crap outta him together with cyan's 4th swd technique. xD

Anyways yeah I have my three teams on the three areas the creeps can come up. So I just sit around and let the monsters come to me. Afterwards I heal and head to Kefka. I sweat cause after all that fighting I really don't wanna lose. BTW I'm usally near lv15 adverage.
