Right, I have been stuck in this desert of doom for like THREE hours now

Im supposed to be going to the ruins in the centre of this stupid sand tides place, which I eventually got to, only for the door to say locked from the inside, I mooched up the steps to see if there was anything at the top, loitered there for a while - nothing happened- wandered back to the stupid sand and decided to head left to see if there was anything there...

Basically, I just went round in one big whopping circle and ended up back where I started, I went to have a natter with Cid and Mid and all they said was good bloody luck, fat lot of god THEY were

So, am I missing something? I have my black (purple if you ask me) chocobo parked up in a forest near the Ancients library and I have NO idea where I am supposed to be going if I can't get into this dump of a pyramid thing

Did you beat the sandworm? Did you get to the other side of the desert yet?

(You're not supposed to go into the pyramid just yet--it's for much later.)

When you arrive at the Library of Ancients it seems Cid and Mid have a plan but first you must go to the Sand Tides. The Sand Tides are located West of the Library of Ancients, you must travel there on foor as there is no forest to land your Chocobo.
Enter the tides and try to cross to trigger a scene with Cid and Mid. Select yes or no depending on whether you're ready to fight a boss or not. You can leave and save your game, then return and speak to Mid to trigger the fight.

well, that's according to gamefaqs, but, from personal experience, all I remember is having to fight a giant sand worm/snake/thing then something happens, then you're through

I think Cid and Mid say you need to fight the sand worm so that you can walk over the quicksand by walking over its body--but upon reading what she said carefully, it seems she was able to reach the pyramid in the middle, so she's probably gone past that part--but you have to get to the other side of the desert, not worry about the pyramid.

Yes, keep heading to the south and you should get to where you need to go. The pyramid does not come into play until later in the game.

Ignore the Pyramid for now as it doesn't come into play much later (Awaiting your help thread for that too ). Instead of heading towards the Pyramid, head South-Eastwards away from it and you should end up back on the World Map. Just head south from there and you'll end up at Ronka Ruins which is you next destination.

Great, I wasted well loads of hours in that annoying place aswel, and yeah I fought that stupid worm, so does anyone know where I actually need to be then if it's not there yet

Just cross the desert and get to the other side. You're supposed to find this field after the desert (I can't remember if there's a town icon there or not) but you'll find some ruins--that's where you need to go.

What's more anoying is I left at the bottom and thought I'd ballsed up so I went back into the desert....rightho anyway, thanks for your help guys and girls, I'm off to explore the southern part....hopefully being lost should be a thing of the past, until I don't know where to go again
