Okay, so I'm going through my first playthrough of FFIV for the DS, and I have become stumped.

I need help with the "Doctor" boss battle. After the semi-lulzy stage battle with him and that Frankenstein wannabe (who goes friggin' emo and takes out one of your guys along with himself -__-) the creepy zombie like monster after just confuzzles me.

Like, I don't know what to do. Seriously. The reversal gas made me think a quick Phoenix Down would take him out since his restore was damaging me, but nope, not the case.

So is there some loophole I'm missing here? Is there a way to use this reversal gas to my advantage? Using the cure spells aren't doing a whole lot, and it's annoying since his cure spells do some decent damage to my party >_>

You should aim to divide your assault between Dr. Lugae and Barnabas to prevent the former summoning a powerful Barnabas-Z, and/or to prevent Barnabas self-destructing. Killing them within a very short time span will help you conserve your HP, as you'll neeeed it.

Lugaborg can be viewed as difficult, but for as long as his Reverse spell is up, just throw items at him and cast Black Magic on yourself if need be. A combination of X-Potion and an Elixer can either kill or nearly kill him, if you're looking to get past here as soon as possible.

You mean you can actually get past the first fight without anyone dying?! :gasp:

So I should kill both Lugae and Barnabas in the same attack? Is that how I won't end up with any KOed members?

Well, too late for that. I chose the easy way out and when I had to fight Lugae (after starting with one dead party member), I threw one of the 3 elixirs I had and chipped off the rest of his HP as fast as I could >_>

But I beat him :monster:

After the reversal gas, throw 2 elixers at him. Then he is dead. No pheonix downs, Elixers.
