Hey guys, just thought I'd get into Final Fantasy so I decided to play the first one. I'm playing Final Fantasy Origins for the PS1, and the first game which is ofcourse FFI.

I just have some questions:

1. I noticed when you use the heal spell with your White Mage one of the spell dots goes empty, then when you use it again both the dots go empty and you can't use anymore spells. How do I get both the dots recharged so I can use magic again?

2. Is there a way to see how much EXP I need for the next level?

Ok, just those 2 for now but there will probably be more as I go along. Thanks.

I think the only way to recharge your magic in FFI is to rest at an inn. At least, that's the only way I remember. I don't remember how you check your experience points either.... D=

just something to say

Yes inns and tents. Also I think you can check how much EXP you need by looking under stats in the menu.

Have fun playing a time less classic. FF1 ftw

Thanks a lot guys, worked perfectly.

Oh also another couple of questions:

1. When you flee, does the character you chose to flee just leave the battle and not get hurt? Do you suffer a penalty for fleeing?

2. If you die, how do you resurrect that character? Is it just healing him?

Thanks.

1) I believe that if one person successfully flees, the entire party escapes the battle. Basically, you've got four chances to escape. There's also no penalty for fleeing, not that I remember, at least.

2) The only way to resurrect a character is to go to a Sanctuary in the nearest town. Inns do not revive fallen party members...and there aren't any Phoenix Downs. There are Life and Life2 spells, but those are a good ways down the road (I believe Life is level 5 or 6).

Also, as a side note, it's good to see people playing the Origins version of the game, it's definitely the most faithful recreation of the original NES version, especially in terms of difficulty.

Good hunting...and welcome to the forums. :neomon:

Just a side note, while there aren't any penalties to fleeing, you shouldn't overdo it as you'll gain less experience overall which can result in more challenging boss fights (which is a good/bad thing), but also it'll result in more grinding sessions to catch up with the levels whereas if you fight the battles throughout the journey, it'll feel less of a grinding session.

It's a damn good game though, and enjoy every moment of it because FF2 is a bit of a yay or nay game for certain players (you'll see why when you play it).
