A lot of people do but some people find it childishly hilarious to post what they want, when they want in topics that don't relate to their posts, or rather their posts don't relate to topics. Spammers should be given verbal warnings IMO and then if they keep doing it, a raised warning bar and then suspension. But hey, that's not my place to say
The members from the other FFF are not spammers anyway, I can assure you that. They prefer posting in deep discussion threads and keep the spamming in the spam forums.

Why do people spam outside the spam coloseum? They don't realise they do it, or they're n00b's, or they just deliberately spam up the boards.

Like I said, what about an auto-account deletion? I don't know if there can be such a thing, but it's something to look in to.

maybe the admins need to send them a message saying
NEVER SPAM OUTSIDE THE SPAM COISEUM!!!!!!!!!!!

Like I said many people do it for entertainment and find it funny to wind up other members by spamming. Personally, I fail to see the funny side of it. As for the auto-deletion account thingy, it seems like a good idea but like I've said, I doubt admins would want that as that means losing members, even if they are inactive.
You can't really say that the merge is bad because there will be more spamming, that's untrue. The active members on the other FFF are not spammers but great members to post properly with. However, there'll be a shit load of inactive members on this forum xD

well they could give them a warning for any spamming from any newbie but not to users that have been following the rules

Seeing as I'm not an admin, I look at it differently. If I registered on to a forum with tons of inactive members, with maybe one post 6 months ago, I wonder why they never posted again, or why the forum credits itself on thousands of members when only a few hundred actually use it. It seems less appealing to be on a large forum with no people, than a small forum with many people. That's just me, hence my suggestion.

Did you read the rules at all? Spamming is against them anyway, so in most cases, they will be warned. I don't know how leniant the staff are, but technically that occurs anyway.

I know what you mean. There are loads of forums out there that have 'thousands' of members, but most of those members are inactive. I prefer forums that have a small amount of members that are active as oppose to the ones that have a ton of members that are mostly inactive. This merge will bring another load of inactive members (Because the other FFF has 150 members and only about 10 of them are TRULY active). But hey, we have to make some sacrifices right? :P

Well maybe if they don't post in like 2-3 mounths they get their account deleted if they do not post within a day or something
Like look at my account and see how long ive been here then look at my post count.
I have never double posted and i have a huge post count for someone whos only been here for a week

That was my idea - an autp account deletion after inactivity occurs for a significant period of time.

Hmmm ... that makes you look bad  It implys "mega-spammer" :P

I think that's a good idea. But some people may have their reasons for leaving for a while, hence that's why we should get a Leaving/Returning thread once the forums have merged. Hopefully thr admins wont mind a auto account deleting system but we'll see.

whatever you say
well they might merge but i hope they choose good ones.
I know theres never a perfect forum but at least one with alot of active members

^ That was spam right there...xP

Question for the admins when they see this ~ After much contraversy, is the merge actually taking place. If so, how is it coming, I'm curious to know.
I don't think it's been decided as of yet, I think they're still waiting on a larger verdict. But hey, I ain't an admin :P

Well the answer to your question is yes, we are merging, but hte mysql for our forum is over 80m and it's going to take some time to sort through it.

It would be nice to be told this from DB ... hopefully this will be soon.

@ Cloudsgurl69: I recall you stating that there was only 10 truly active members on your forums ... if this is the case, is there any point in merging? Why not just get those 10 members to join us?
