FF6 Cannot defeat boss

So when you're on the airship and it gets attacked by the Empire you have to form a party of 3 ( i used Terra/Locke/Celes and Terra/Edgar/Gau both failed twice ) and you have to beat a few 3-6 empire-machines ( you know what i mean ) then you have to fight the Octopus as well when that monster behind him 'blows you away with Snoff' you fall from the airship and have to beat this thing some of it attacks are over the 600 and if i try to cure/raise another member of the party the magic gets aborsed by its 'Bit/bot? but at the time i am trying to destroy that the moster already pretty much kills my entire party ever time

I do now know what to do any top advice?
( i do not have Moogle in my party btw )

I'm fairly sure you should have Sabin and Cyan in your team at that point, and they are quite strong, normally my strongest characters at that time. Make a four person party, with one person your designated healer, Celes has a quite high magic stat, so her or Terra. And have the other three to attack, you can use cure to heal when you get injured. I suspect you are underleveled, as I beat the dog guy without having a healer, so you could try leveling up as well.

i'm not allowed to make a party of 4 the game insist i make a party of 3 before the airship gets attacked i do not know why i think it be a lot easier if the game allowed me to use a party of 4 like it always did

The thing is i need to know the weak point of this boss.

You should just be able to beat him with pummel/suplex and dispatch. He's quite an easy boss, most of the monsters on the floating Island are tougher than he is.

I will give it a go again but i i already tried a few times using characters like Celes Terra Lock and Edgar thing's are perfectly fine defeating the all the robot/Empire and the octopus and his monster-friend until i get that huge robot/monster boss whatever it is
