FF XII - Ultima - Great Crystal

I'm getting frustrated trying to reach Ultima! I found 2 posts on the Web and neither works for me. Either the directions they advise are reversed or the gates themselves are missing or have completely different names. I've followed both sets of directions exactly for the 25th time and keep having the same problem.

I start at port VIII. Perhaps I need to start even further out.

Any correct directions out there or am I doing something wrong or heaven forbid, stupid?

I always went to www.FF12maps.com for help on any location.

Ultima is in the top area of the great crystal so its pretty hard to get to there, sometimes. Say your at waystone VIII you want to go and press the Scorpio device by traveling one screen away and then back track to the gate and waystone VIII. From there you want to follow the path to Waystone XX. Touch that and you'll be at the top of the Crystal and one screen away from a Save point.

Ultima lies north of the save point.
