FF XII Glitch on PS3?

I'm having a problem where a bunch of the buttons don't work for FF XII. Can't access map, can't equip. I can fight and talk and that's and run around and that's about it. Any ideas? I tried playing Tekken Tag from PS2 and it worked fine so I really doubt its the controller that's the problem.

well my issue is it does not work and my other ps2 games have delayed sound, i wonder if there is an issue with certain ps2 games?...
