Hey, it had to be started. Besides, I just got FF IV Advance and I'm sort of stuck.

So, as you may know, the plot is Cecil, a Dark Knight, is rebelling against his king. He sets out in an attempt to thwart the king's plans to find the Crystals at terrible costs. Along the way, he'll meet many people that will switch in and out of his party.

Anyway, I'm stuck at a point where I have to find the sandstone to save Rosa. My problem is there's nowhere to get Ethers and that's what I need in order to beat the pesky Yelow Jellies in the sand cave.
There's probably no way to help, but please, feel free to share and discuss information and help out if you can.
Edit: Nevermind about helping me. I solved it.
So just discuss the game. Do you like it? Which version is better?

I just beat this game most recently. Even though I played it I don't think I coulda answered your question, so I'm glad to hear you got it sorted out yourself. lol. That part was fun. When it wasn't annoying.

I played the PSX version, and I really liked it. The storyline was pretty good, although I had to laugh spoiler if you haven't progressed too far in the game
almost everyone who got supposedly "killed" came back in some way, all save for Tellah..

The ending was really cheesy, but I guess there's not much you can do about it. I really like a lot of the characters though. Cecil and his character development along with the other various characters, Cid is so cool, thought Edge was an interesting guy. lol. I enjoyed buying elixirs, felt weird being able to do that. I wish I coulda got more of those Ag or Au Apples...........

The very last dungeon............
I think they're called Mines or Minds, they are horrible enemies! They confuse your party members and I always had to sigh in relief when I defeated one of those. They kicked my ass royally.

They say that FFIV is one of the hardest FF games, and the harder version out've the two kinds. There were some difficult bosses, but I didn't think it was that difficult. Not like FFV at least.

It was fun to play. Just wish I could've kept more of the main characters in my party instead of them dying off.

I loved this game...especially the part where you
find the monk in the sylph cave and have to get a frying pan off his wife to wake him up
. The only problem was that I reached the final boss at lvl45, got my ass kicked and stopped playing

I'm currently replaying this game and I gotta admit it is really, really hard. The story's somewhat cheesy and the returning characters get old but the dialogue is fun (You spoony bard!) and the adventure is long and interesting. An old game....but if you can get past that it's really a blast to play.

As for the last dungeon...
The Mind enemy is an astral projection of Zemus and can be quite dangerous. Not worth fighting since the Breath enemy is more rewarding but if you want a challenge there's one for you.

lol, im stuck in the same place as you.

I'm on the final stage of this game. Surprisingly, this game is really short. Some bosses were a real annoyance, but overall the game was enjoyable. Kind of reminded me of an RPG Maker game a little bit. :)

I've only played the SNES and PS version of the game. I find the PS verison much better...first the original dialogue was restored, thankfully. Second, the difficulty was upped and I love a good challenge. Incidently, I've learned of an interesting trick the other day...when Rydia ran out of magic I had her pysch it out of Cecil. Normally Cecil's mp is just another source of Hipotions...but now I can use him as a source of mp too! As long as th spellcaster has pysch I can always use Cecil to extend the mp life of my casters! ^__^

I do love FFIV. The music and the character development in the game is what I enjoy most of about it. I have all versions of the game but only enjoy the SNES and GBA version over the Playstation version. Reason is because I only bet the SNES and GBA version of FFIV.

I like this game a lot at the start as I am a totall Dark Knight fan however as the story progresses it does become just a little bit too cheesy.

Can I just ask if you had the choice of being either a Dark Knight or a Paladin, what would you go for?

I would always choose a Dark Knight as they are far better in my opinion even though Cecil is perhaps the worsed Dark Knight in all of FF.

I love this game.
I have it for PSone and GBA.
I'm playing it on GBA currently, and what I don't like, is that the monsters get SO hard after you get on the moon.
Tuh. But I've still never had a game over on it :D

I love the game too^_^
It's one of my favourite FF games.
I have all versions, SNES, Psone and GBA.
And I think the SNES is the best.

Jellow Jellies? You can flee from battles, no reason to spend your mp in mere jellies...Well, I'm stuck inside the Babil Giant... I think that Cecil has 1600 hp and the others around 1100...Too hard to beat the elements. And that FuSoYa is too FUCKING slow, although he has full magic list... And i have advanced too much to begin from start again...

He might be slow, but he's very useful. Don't diss him. ;)

Well train a little bit more, and try again.

You'd want to complete this game, FFIV's one of the best in the series.

Is this game any good? I've always avoided getting it cause it's so old (I didn't like I and II on GBA.) It's one of the only FFs I don't have (I don't have IV V or VI.) If someone objective could give me an overview of this game I'd really appreciate it :D

Well for one, it's a lot better than I and II.
And the FFs you don't have(IV, V, VI), you really should get them. They're a MUST play.
If you have your doubts though, you could start out with either one of those three, and if you liked it, you'll definitely like the other two as well.
