Help Few Questions..

Been a While since i played, and i was never too good at the game, never defeated ruby, or emerald weapons. I have a Few question's, if any of you could possibly answer them, id be very greatful.

1) If you put materia such as say.... POISON, in your weapon, does this mean there is a chance of inflicting onto the opponent with a weapon attack?

2) Any ideas which is the best sword in the game.... As i can't seem to get my normal attack power high? (Masamune) is best for me so far.

3) The forum is running slow for me, and i would like some useful materia tips.. if there is a link somewhere on the forum, could you possibly send the link please. Or if you dont mind explaining, or giving me some tips id be greatful, thanks.

1) Yes, but only if it's coupled with the Added Effect materia in a joined slot.
2) The Ultima Weapon, which is obtained by (funnily enough) defeating Ultima Weapon later in the second disc or at any time during the third.
3) ALWAYS have Cure joined to an All materia. Don't give all your most powerful materia to one character - mix and match.

1) Yes, the enemy may be poisoned because of that if the added effect is also there and the two materia are connected
2)The best sword is DEFINETETLY Ultima weapon
3) You should get materia like w-summon and counter, and try to find summon materia like bahamut fury and Knights of the round (KOTR)

Only if you link the Poison with Added Effect.

Ultimate sword for Cloud is called Ultima Weapon, you can obtain it after defeating the Ultima WEAPON enemy in very late disc 2 and disc 3.

elemental plus or added effect if you want to add the benefits of poison in your weapon

it also works if you equip it to your armour - but your armour will get the benefits poison + elemental materia will boost your resistance to poison, eventually making you immune to it and absorbing it as the elemental materia levels up..if my memory serves me correctlly

I'm a slow learner when it comes to Reading, then having to do it myself. I find it easier learning myself.... But i just cant get the hand of it!

Ill make notes of all the tips, and try these out.... (When i get the game, its rare now)

The power of the Ultima Weapon is related to Cloud's remaining HP. Basically, keep his HP up and he'll do more damage.

Ah, thanks! I never knew much about this cause at the time i played the game, i didnt have internet to find out.

Nice to know people are willing to share knowlege in a positive way!

I Use Masamune, And Powersource Trick... and got Good damage. I Bought the game again today, cant wait to get back into it and try,

Keep in mind that Cloud's Ultimate Weapon does not gain any AP growth. It's advised that you get ahold of the Apocalypse which has triple growth and level up any materia you'd want to equip to the Ultima Weapon.

So thats why my materia from my weapon isnt lvling up.... Damn. lol

Poisen will only affect the enmy with a physical attack is its in the weapon linked to a elemental or added efect materia.
