There she was, and here I was. Walking along the streets of Main, holding my bags that I had gotten from the store I just came from, with clear skies and sun shining *there I saw her in all of her beauty. Her hair as red as the flames of the sun, and her green eyes contrasted brilliantly from her Orange top, and her sky-blue short shorts. Her fair skin spotless, and toned to such perfection. A little piece of heaven she was.

Seeing such a beauty made my limbs shaky, my hand jittery, and no words coming out of my mouth. Her laugh was as gentle as she was glorified perfection. I don’t know why my body doesn’t move. I have forgotten about everything. My plans are non-existent, and whatever I had planned for the day must now come to a halt. I must know her. I start walking. With each step I take, I gain a foot closer to her. She hasn’t noticed me, she’s only gazing at the sky while sitting on a bench. She has no idea that she is everything that I long for and everything that makes a perfect woman.

“Is this seat taken?” I ask softly.
“no, go right ahead.” She responds.

I sit next to her, and my heart starts to race. I have felt nothing like this before. Is this what love feels like? I do not know, but somehow this feels right. I do not know what to say right now. If I say the wrong thing, then this beautiful lady would think of me as socially awkward, but she’ll think of me that way if I don’t say something. Just when I was going to comment on her looks, I noticed she was holding a poetry book, one that is of the special collection of Edgar Allen Poe’s best poems.

“That wouldn’t be a Poetry book of Edgar Allen Poe, would it?” I ask nervously.
“Yes, it is.” She responds, “Are you a fan?”
“Yes I am, I love the way his words can be dark and mysterious, but calm and soothing all at the same time. His works has inspired me to become a writer” Casually I answer.

In that moment, I have found a way to get her to not only notice me, but also I have found a common interest that has locked our eyes to each others. Her green eyes met my blue eyes in a five-second stare. Inside I breathing so heavy it’s like a set of hands is literally gripping my throat causing me to suffocate.

Just as I was going to go into a meltdown, I hear her sweet voice speak..

“You’re a writer? That’s so neat. I’d love to hear some of your works sometime.” She said curiously.
“I was about to go to my friend’s coffee shop to do an open reading. “ I said, “would you like to join me?
“Sure, sounds like it could be really fun.” she said with a slight laugh.

It was that easy. All it took was a little bravery, and I have the girl of my dreams coming to one of my open readings. Whether this is fate or just pure coincidence, it happened and that’s all I care about.

“Well then, let’s go.” I said

As the both of us got up, she tripped over her shoe, and only to my reflexes acting accordingly, I caught her only what was another locking of our eyes.

“Are you okay?” I asked still holding her in my arms with her eyes still looking at me.
“Yeah, I guess I don’t know my own step” She said getting back on her feet.

“My name is Ken.” I said smiling
“Hey, mine is Megan.” she said smiling back
“Let’s get going, Megan.” I said as the two of us headed to the coffee shop with our hands locked together.
