Hi guys, I'm thinking of starting a virtual Blitzball league on the same premise of Fantasy Football. I have the basics panned down but I need to see if there is any interest. Wanna lead a virtual team? If interested post here.

I'd like to know more about the idea before I give my yay or nay. It sounds like it could be successful though with the right support.

Ok, this is how it would work. I assign the list of blitz players and an appropriate cost to hire them. Each player has a certain ammount of gill each so you can't buy the best of everything. You need to hire 2 forwards a mid fielder 2 defenders and a keeper. Regardless of how you feel about the particular player, the cost will reflect the skill of the player. EG player A costs 10000 gill player b costs 5000 gill. Player A is probably twice as good regardless of the name.
Next I convert the players to a real life game (with the costs reflecting the stats of the real player, so a randomness occurs) , which will remain nameless. Points will be asigned for goals and stops as well as assists as every player equates to a real player. This is going to take a lot of work on my behalf. In the interests of fairness, I will not be partaking, I will run it.
In essence you could pay 10000 for Tidus which would equate to the best player in the real life alternative but if that player is useless this season then thats just hard luck. Transfers may be possible in the future but I would prefere to start a short season first to see how it goes.

That is a nice idea, but I'd still like to know what sport it will be relating to? It would obviously have to be something similar to Blitzball...

It would have been Ice Hocky. But to be honest as a new thread has popped up and interest has been low I think I'll give up on the idea.
