Failures or misfortunes while playing

Did you ever suffer some great failure or misfortune while playing? I beat Emerald one time and just as he was disappearing, the time ended. Because the battle hadn't "Officially" ended, I lost.
 
About 6 months ago id been leveling up for about 3 hours - and i was flying on the airship - like ya do - when i saw a strange red dot on the sand.....

needless to say i got whooped. and i didnt wanna play on it again for a while >_<
 
The first time I played through...almost a decade ago?...I found fighting to be boring, and wanted to get to the story part of the game, so I ran from most random battles. Then the random battles got to be pretty difficult, so I ran from those too. However, when I got to Temple of the Ancients, I got destroyed repeatedly by the boss of the dungeon (can't remember its name off the top of my head>_<) I got aggravated, put the game aside for a while, and didn't pick it up for a few months. I was young.
 
Wow that is bad. Let's see, I would have to say getting to disc 3, going to the Shinra Mansion for Cloud's flashback and the game freezing just as Zack punches the guy.
 
Probably getting so close to beating Emerald and realizing I had combo'd Final Attack and...Bahamut instead of the Phoenix materia. Damnit... Forgot to place Phoenix in that slot.
 
how about killing a boss or a hard enemy and end up winning with one character when you want to get the full exp and ap for the other two...oh and always forgetting to steal the warrior bangle from the boss on the train chase oh man
 
I forgot to get NeoBahamut in the crater so I was down Bahamut Zero too which really sucked because I had spent litterally hours looking for Neo Bahamut in the norther crater in disc 3 before even realizing that it was really too late.
