Do you believe in euthanasia/mercy killing? When a person asks to be put to death will you grant it to them?

I'm entirely undecided about the issue. In one way I can understand someone who is in constant pain and discomfort from an illness...but there are also people who just give up when things get rough...I guess in some ways it's acceptable but in other ways it's not. What do you think?

I am for it. If someone wishes to end their own life, why not allow it? I think I heard somewhere that it is ILLEGAL to kill one's self, but I', not sure if that's concrete. It's seems ironic.

Anyway, back to the matter. Yes, I agree. Why? When a pet or other animal (wild, in captivity) is sick and is at the point where he cannot live life properly, what happens? He is put to sleep, a loose term for kind-murder or, here, mercy-killing.

If this is allowed for animals, why not humans? Maybe the person should have compulsory information and chats/interviews and the such just to make sure that the person does make a decision that they want.

Putting someone else out of misery. Again, I come back to the animals: the person who kills the human (with the human's consent) is EXACTLY the same as killing the animal, otherwise commonly known as a Vet. If the other person is imprisoned, shouldn't a Vet be imprisoned too? It's the exact same matter, but it looked upon differently.

Everyone has a right to their life. They also have a right to end it if they so desire.

But I do not think I would throw away mine so wantonly.

They should discuss it with the person before killing him so he dosent regret it later, I also think they should try to help him out of his misery. They should have a very good reason too.

Unless you ask someone that wants you dead :-)P), then you'd have to do a lot of convincing for that other person to let you go, as well.
