Epic letter to Squaresoft

Saw this on reddit the other day. Epic, yet kinda controversial...

Watch it then discuss...should Square Enix take things back to the way things were during their days as Squaresoft? Should they make true sequels to Final Fantasy VII or Chrono Trigger (not mediocre spin-offs like Dirge of Cerebus)? What do you think?

Of all things, I would love to see a new sprite-based game. There old games had a charm that hasn't been replicated.

As far as sequels to the aforementioned games...I would like to see another Chrono game. I never really got into the first one, but loved Chrono Cross for some reason. I really did not like VII, so I wouldn't care for one. I know others would, and more power to them. I would much rather see them do something with their older games though, or a new game in the old style. Or a new Tactics.

I do think they are trying to hard to make something different just to be different, not because it's better, and it is getting them into trouble. A lot of it is their catering to a young demographic, while at the same time spurning those that have followed them from the beginning, who aren't in their teens any more, and a lot of it is their focus on "pretty graphics" rather than gameplay and story.

No, no, no, no, no, no no, NO.

While a sequel to Chrono Trigger and Sword of Mana would be nice, most of the stuff he said, I really don't want happening !

Plus he doesn't want games like FF XI and then he wants Square to do a online game ? Whut ?
That doesn't make any sense.
