Okay guys, hoping you can help. Playing FFXV and I'm some 40 + hours in and level 53. I'm attempting to complete the engaging the empire - to get the car back. However, I cannot complete this stage due to a glitch; I cannot interact with gate, after eliminating the soldiers. I've tried reloading the game from the campsite save point, but the glitch persists. How may I resolve this?

To get this straight, is this immediately after the first batch of soldiers and then you come to a laser-beam gate? So the panel isn't working?

I don't think you need a keycard or anything like that, but just to be sure make sure you pick up everything in the area. If the panel near the laser-gate isn't working, I'm not sure what is up. Same with any of the gates in this area, I think. Usually the panel is right next to the laser-gates and all it takes is for Noctis to press the buttons.

Which version of the game are you playing?

EDIT:
I've just done a search and apparently this sometimes happens if you run too far ahead of your teammates. If you kill yourself or load up an earlier autosave then it can sometimes fix it. You say you have loaded up the campsite and the glitch persists, so have you any earlier saves?

Many thanks for such a swift reply. I'm playing the day one edition. Yes I found the same solution, doing a search; it's next to impossible not to run past your teammates at some point during this mission, as they stop at certain points and you have to go past them. I have no idea how to kill my character; I tried standing in front of the soldiers and letting them attack me, but my team just wades in and takes them out!

Yes, the glitch appeared at the first laser gate. After killing the third imperial around the gate area, a symbol came up suggesting that I'd picked up a key. I picked up all collectables in this area and then approached the laser gate - nothing. I reloaded again and again, always with the same result. Save points prior to this area were some three days back, so I didn't want to go so far back.

Regardless, the issue is now resolved! I'm quite puzzled as to how, 'cause I don't really know how I did it! Is there more than one laser gate, when you initially break in? I ran Noctis and the team around the back of all the containers and seemed to come out at a different gate - it's hard to tell, as this area is pretty dark - and to my surprise, there was the key symbol and it worked! All subsequent gates were fine.

I've got to say that Final Fantasy is my favourite game, although this one doesn't have the same feel to it as the others. After many, many hours of playing - too many, my wife tells me - I'm just starting to get the hang of things - well, I am 65! Previously I've availed myself of Piggyback guides, but I haven't found one for FFXV. Each reincarnation of this game changes the battle system, as well as the "buffs" (system), so I have to relearn each time. Overall, though, it's still a most enjoyable game - just different. 👍😊

I'm glad you've managed to progress. Having to start again from several days ago would be infuriating, so I'm glad you avoided that fate.

I recall that area being particularly difficult to navigate. I remember I had to walk around for quite a while before I could figure out which way I was allowed to go at a particular time. The fact that it is dark and that it is relatively open and you can see other areas through fences, etc, can add to the confusion.
Maybe that was a problem in your case, or maybe the glitch just stopped glitching for some unknown reason.

All's well that ends well!
:argor:

FFXV does have a Piggyback guide, although I don't own it and I haven't seen many people talking about it.

I looks fairly brilliant.

Thank you for the information and especially for the link.

Yes, I knew that there was a Piggyback guide for FFXV; it's just that this time I'd not aquired one. I've bought these guides in the past - I even managed to aquire a limited edition one for very little money - and they are worth having for the artwork alone. Although I could no doubt aquire one online, I prefer to get one from a shop, as I like to see what I'm buying - I've not located one yet.

I'm certainly glad to have progressed further in the game; for a while there I was getting very frustrated. As you say, this was a particularly confusing area - especially in the dark!

I've reached a point where I can enter the next chapter, but get a warning (am I sure - as I won't be able to return for awhile) and I'm wondering whether to proceed or not. There are a few side quests outstanding - some it appears that it's not possible to get to due to blockades (or later chapters), while others are "greyed" out, while using the car, yet visible while on foot! This us confusing and I'm not sure to proceed to the next chapter or not - will I be able to return to these in later chapters?

Anyway, enough of me. May I take this opportunity to wish you a great weekend and thank you. 👍😊
