I had no idea where this type of topic would go, so i shall place it in help.

In our community (SEF) we had one of your members advertising, this is prohibited, unless placed in a signature, or you have the administrators permission, if you do, then you place it in a thread.

However one of your members came in and sent emails advertising your site, I know that advertising is hard enough without being restricted in forums.

BUT, if people are to take your rules seriously you must take our rules seriously. I am not moderator or anything, but i shall get no sense out of you if the admins/mods just warn a member which wont be there, will I?

So I am posting in here, just to tell you that if your advertising do it somewhere where it is legal.

I do not wish to start conflict in here, and its not you solemnly to blame, but i am getting tired of people joining our community just to advertise theirs, how is ours meant to grow, you know?

Again its not everyone, the member was called "DarkCloud" when he registered on our forums, If i were you i'd tell him to keep aware of other community's rules.

Final Fantasy Forums under no circumstances condones the breaking of another forums rules.

The Staff of this site will be aware of this incident and appropriate action will be taken.

However it is not our place to punish someone for breaking the rules on another forum. That is for that forum to handle not us.

Like I said before his purpose has been served, he has advertised in our site not even taking note of the rules, if SEF punished him then he wouldn't even mind, he has done his job, at the end of the day he's not going to go back in there.

Many of times, people have been banned verbal warned or physically warned, but there is no person behind that member no more, they have gone back to their home forum.

This is why I came to you, i'm not asking for you to warn him or terminate his account, i'm just asking to have a word with him, I would not wish for my actions to lose anothers membership.

Ditto.

How are we meant to know what they do. We don't tell them to go advertise by sending emails. The most we have told them to do is if they could tell a friend or yeah, put it in their sig. Don't blame us for actions by others.

I said before I am not blaming you, and im not "accusing" you of telling members to go advertise.

Like I said before I don't want to start a war here just get a mtter resolved, I don't want you getting a bad name from this, and I don't want anyone getting a bad name, I just want peace.

I realise what a decent forum this is, and this member must have been somewhat of a "rougue" your members are well disciplined, and hardly ever does war break out, so obviously in my eyes this looks like your first, and now I want to make sure its your last.

I realize that, just hard to keep members at bay. We'll tell that one user and if it contnues (hopefully you'll give us a buzz) we'll make a announcement concerning it and what lengths you shouldn't go to, to advertise.

Thank you, very much.

I shall keep an eye out on this forum, who knows i may become a regular, though..... I don't think i'd be wanted after this incident

Again I thank you for talking to him.

I'll see you around.
