Elder Wyrm

I didnt know about that optional path either O_O Oh well, I fought him with my party in their early 20's and found him pretty easy. Just get rid of the Treants and Oil, then hack away.

Haha yeah, I didn't even realize Elder Wyrm had accompanying Treants until 10 minutes into the battle. xD
I was wondering how Balthier was incurring so much damage with the Wyrm not even facing him lol.

I also ran out of handkerchiefs during the battle, which stunk 'cause Wyrm just kept blasting me with Fire Breath and I couldn't do anything about it since I used all my MP in Quickenings. >.>

I've only died once at that was by the first demon wall. The bosses are usually hard but after a while you find a way to beat them.

He was easy for me, just the fact that he has high HP and 1 Quickning chain won't deal with him makes him seem hard.

There is an Alt. Route through the Feywood but the enemies there are super strong and I wouldn't advise it.

I hated the Sporefall Attack, thank god for Gambits.

Took the optional path .. but went back

We took the optional path down through The Feywood to get to the Paramina Rift and Mt. Bur-Omisace. After we leveled up to where we felt more comfortable (maybe closer to 30, I think) I went back to the jungle and defeated the darn thing -- barely.

My characters didn't have all their quickenings and didn't have the best HP. I was really glad to pound that wyrm into the ground. ...

He was hard my first go around due to me not being the right level at all. I went in there thinking it will be a cake walk and got my ass stomped on.

The second time I went threw the game I made sure to level up and such. He was quite easy actually. Only thing that was annoying was his "Spore" attack.

This boss wasn't nearly as hard as everyone made it out to be. All you had to do was stay on top of the status effects and you could blow right through him. I think it only took me two times to beat him and the first time I wasn't at full health.

How so not in full health? xD
There's like...a gate crystal the glade before you went to face him if you went the orthodox route. :P

Also, I thought you meant the optional route was there when you were actually fighting Elder Wyrm. Now I get that you mean that you could've gone down there IF you didn't go through that glade to fight him. I was wondering why I didn't find an exit when I was actually fighting Elder Wyrm.

Yea, I hit it, saved, then talked to those viera and got disoriented... I walked back into the jungle and got beat up. Pissed and confused I turned around and walked right into the boss battle.
