I haven't noticed this, but there was no earthbound thread, so i decided to make one. Anyways, Welcome to the thread dedicated to Earthbound, one of the rarest SNES Game around. Feel free to post your statements about this game (characters, places, wether you like it or not, etc.)

Earthbound, quite an unforgettable name. This was one of my original RPGs I first ever played. The first person view for battling was different for those times. The characters were really good, the weapons were different, and I found it funny how the items you purchased was just mere food items or drinks. Ranging from hamburgers to pizza and boxed drinks to fruit juices.

Yeah, I was just playing it a few hours ago (I'm currently borrowing it from a friend), and i could say this, THIS GAME RULES! I mean, really, the many places you'll be going through (cities and towns that has some references to numbers and seasons), the battle system (in which it's similar to dragon warrior), and the fact that the item you use to heal are ordinary food items (such as pizza, bread, double burgers). The story for this gamer is interesting as well. The character i think is annoying has to be Pokey, because at first, he was just a coward, and then he starts acting as if he runs the place. To my point of view, this is a game worth getting.

There are many n00bs such as myself who have never played a Mother game but want to see Earthbound and Mother 3 on the Virtual Console, but I keep hearing from reliable sources (also known as other gamers) that our chances of seeing those games are slim. It depresses me. Earthbound is a maybe, since it has already been released in the states, but Mother 3 sounds impossible. I want to play Mother 3 more.

What? No it wasn't...Both the Dragon Quest series & Phantasy Star series had used plenty of 1st person turn-based battles...heck, the first Phantasy Star even had 1st person DUNGEONS (talk about hardcore!)!!! I think that Lufia & the Rise of the Sinistrals also used 1st person battles...I don't recall...

Anyways! I love the Mother games. The first is easily one of the best 8-Bit RPGs there was...even if you forget the fact that there just weren't very many! It's right up there w/Dragon Quest IV & Final Fantasy III. The series is one of the only ones that has managed a GOOD modern-day setting. I really enjoyed the final battle in Mother 2/Earthbound...I REALLY put my last hopes in that...I think I used up every item & all my SP and one of the characters was dead at least...:P

Dang, makes me want to fire up Nester & get a ROM of Mother because I never finished that one (cause it was damn tough at times as many of the oldschool RPGs were)...

I haven't had the opportunity to play Earthbound, but I've been meaning to get around to it. It's a pretty rare game. Tough to come by.

I'm hoping the Nintendo Wii shop channel starts to offer the game.

This is one of my favorite games of all time, and it is quite challenging. This game reminds me of my childhood when me and my friend would sneak into his brother's room to play this game XD.

Unfortunantly, I could never beat it myself, when it was on the SNES, but now I'm slowly making my way through it on an emulator.

I kind of want them to remake this game. I was playing Smash Bros Brawl and there is that Earthbound arena, and it just brought back so many memories. :)

Yeah, NA got screwed on Mother 3, though...so I'm kinda doubtful that even if they DID remake Mother 2 that we (or w/e English-speaking country you're from :P) would get it...V_V
