I'm just wondering about people's opinions on the issue: are dual monitors worth the extra cost and video card power?

The only issue with my setup is that I have a 20.1" LCD hooked up with a 19" LCD so the resolutions do not match up. It's no big deal, it just means that stuff gets a little bit "bigger" when you drag it to the right-screen. But in terms of gaming, do people prefer CRTs or do LCDs do the trick provided low-enough refresh-rate?

I found that CRTs will probably always have a slight edge when it comes to the technical bits. The world may never know =O

LCDs are much better than CRTs. Not many companies are advancing CRTs anymore. Newer LCDs even have DVI inputs (Macs are now native DVI with adapters to convert to VGA).

Anyway, dual monitors are great if you need dual monitors. I use dual monitors at work and can't live without them. As far as gaming, if you really want to be hardcore, get a video card with DVI output and then get a DVI splitter and some newer LCD monitors. That being said, is it worth it? I don't think so, that's pretty expensive for all that stuff and you're not going to get that much better performance out of it.

Hope that helps!

In gaming the performance can be very very much better, ive seen World of Warcraft on a triple monitor 0.o it looks AWESOME!
