Drunk Driving

Drunk driving is an issue that the world faces today and I beleive something needs to be done about it. I live in the U.S. and the commercials on TV always say that something will be done, but I think something more should be done. Drunk driving is not only harmful to the driver, but everyone around the driver also. Many people have died when they shouldn't have because of drunk driving. A question I think the drivers should ask themselves is "Is it really worth hurting someone else, just so I can drive around drunk?". Obviously I am very opposed to this issue, what are your thoughts on this matter?

People who make the choice to drive drunk are too ignorant and or intoxicated to ask themselves a question like that. So it's obvious, to me, anyway, that the law should crack down a lot harder on people who decide to get behind the wheel of a vehicle whilst under the influence (of any drug).

I drink but never drive, im just the paranoid and nervous kind of guy, but most of my friends have droven really drunk and so far no deaths but i dont know if hes reallly lucky or just a good driver or what. Well i agree, driving drunk is dumb cuz then i get left alone drunk ... i hate when my friends leave me alone drunk lol

Ugh, drunk driving should NOT be tolerated at all, and the people that do it should get the book thrown at them hard. My ex got a fine and a 12 month ban for driving drunk, and my dad, well, Im surprised he hasn't been banned for life.... he has had multiple bans fines and short prison stretches and it doesnt deter him

Either one of those idiots could have killed someone, it's a horrifying thought. Rules in ANY country should be toughened up. I mean it hasn't detered my ex, he still does it on occassion. The muppet :stare:

i hate drink drivers, one of my friends was hit by a car when the driver was drunk, it broke his leg.

In all honesty i think that when people who are going out drinking should get a Taxi out and a Taxi back. or they could have a designated driver. Also another way of doing it is to give your car Keys in behind the bar and get a slip and when you go to collect your Keys you get a breathalyser test to see if you have been drinkin. (similar to a jacket system)

I got hit by a drunk driver when i was 6. Now if any of my friends try to drive drunk i tear them a new one. Personaly i think they should have their licsense taken away for longer than 1 year 2-3 would be much better. And they should be fined much more than waht they are now.

Obviously, I'm opposed to drunk driving. It'd be difficult trying to justify doing it. My mother was hit by a drunk driver some time ago. Fortunately, she wasn't injured, but that doesn't make the incident less frightening when you consider how often it occurs.

Driving drunk does result in some severe punishments, but they don't seem to be enough. Some people are just plain stupid to begin with...even before the excessive alcohol enhances that.

I am totally against drunk driving, as an avid drinker I dont think I have once even thought of trying to go somewhere when im drunk. Many of my friends have thought about it and actually done it, but none hurt so far thankfully.

I have always thought there should be a much larger punishment for Drunk Drivers. I know it is always the people who have had a DUI or DWI that tend to disagree because they don't want to agree with you that what they did was completely fing stupid.
No excuse for it at all.
Ive been to my fair share of parties and Keggers and on and on. Never have I found a need to drive drunk, no matter how absolutely Smashed I was. The problem is the people who do it, get away with it, and make it home alright. They somehow think its not a big deal for them and are more willing to do it again. I KNOW people like this, as if they are invincible to killing someone while driving like that just because they lucked out one or two times.
