Hello,

I am a bit fascinated with dreams and find them interesting for a multitude of reasons. I myself keep a dream journal, and I think it's very interesting how each person almost has a 'style' to how their dreams manifest and are portrayed. Some people feel dreams have deeper meanings, such as how dreaming that you're teeth falling out could possibly represent either a loss of control, a huge change in your life or deep loss. Others sometimes think it could represent things to come, and some others think it's just a crazy ride after that midnight pizza you decided to eat before abruptly falling asleep.

Anyway, feel free to share your thoughts on the above if you feel like sharing your input at all! But I wanted the point of this thread to be a place where if you had a weird, funny or even scary dream that you could post it here if you felt inclined to. Dreams from last night, week or even years ago, please feel free to share them below at your convenience! Perhaps someone else has some insight on it, or we can all take a moment to have a good chuckle about how you tried driving a grocery store to work that night.

As always forum rules apply, so if you have multiple dreams you want to share please keep them all in one post, or feel free to post one or two in your spare time so long as there's another post after yours or a certain amount of time has passed since your last entry.

I finally wanted to make this thread after another weird dream I had. It isn't the most bizarre by any stretch, and I wish I had a better dream to start off on, but I woke up feeling kind of sad that I had, and that none of it was real. It seemed incredibly long but it couldn't have been terribly long because it happened in-between one of my alarms today.

Anyway, I had a dream that I was breaking into a closed-down thrift store (credit to my interest in Urban Exploring videos lately) with a few friends that I don't really know in real life. The location was in an area that was technically off-limits, but we managed to break the glass off of one of the broken windows and climb inside where there was stuff just everywhere. I happened upon a Pokemon-themed backpack (lol) and started putting things I found inside it - anything I found interesting at all - glass figurines, miniature stuff, somehow some Bulbasaur things, and just started cramming it in there as quickly as possible. After a certain amount of time we could hear police sirens going off & I panicked and shoved everything in my bag and realized I couldn't find my phone. After a bit I knew I had no time to look and started yelling 'Sirens!' at everyone and started making a run for it through the building to the others before the police got there.

My friends somehow got out before me, but I got left behind with one or two other people, and I could hear the police outside questioning my friends that had escaped who were acting like they were just walking by. Basically, trying to act like the alarm that was tripped was false. We couldn't go outside so I decided to track deeper into the building where it started to look like my Grandma's house, which... is normal for my dreams I guess. I walked into a part of the kitchen where there was food that was wrapped up that was very, very old. I was trying to figure out how all this stuff hadn't molded over yet after so many years - It was like the entire house had just been frozen in time on some regular day and I was seeing stuff that hadn't been seen in forever.

The most interesting part of the dream (at least to me) was when there was this moment that I was almost going back in time, but only for a little bit, like I was on a timer of some sort. I was in my current home, but it was back when someone else owned it, and it was... gorgeous I guess. I walked down to where my room was supposed to be (naturally it doesn't look a think like my real house) and there was this water fountain feature and marble all around just before my room was supposed to be. All of the decor and the furnishings were so elegant yet the decor was so dated, I don't even know how my brain came up with something as detailed as that. I remember wanting to take stuff with me but there wasn't anything that I felt I needed, so I just kept browsing around. I went into a few other rooms that were just as elegant with all these strange bright colors like pink, red & purple. I looked through the bathrooms & some of the stuff that was laying around that belonged to the former owner and checked a few other rooms before making my way out to a room where there was a lot of people walking around. I found my friends and explained that this is my house but from the past. We somehow found the woman that owned the house (she died irl before we purchased the place) and asked her to tour the house as we took a video. I realized I still didn't have my phone and we had to use this older... dream-camera that was in the shape of a cigarette. Someone had taken the video for me in a way I didn't like and it made me unhappy, but as we went through each room again we got back to the fountain that was just before my bedroom and felt this deep sadness of how this house *used* to look like and that it's current state did it no glory whatsoever. One of my friends asked me what was wrong and I began to cry, explaining that I didn't understand why they disassembled everything, I couldn't understand why this practical mansion was down-sized, and then I woke up. I was sad I didn't get my Bulbasaur stuff in my Pokemon backpack.:tearjoy:

Kind of a lame dream to start with, but I don't think I've dreamed of anything so detailed before. It's like those rooms were almost tacky because of the dated-ness of them, but at the same time it was so well thought out and detailed. I didn't think I capable of coming up with that much detail on my own! I think it's funny honestly, but kind of an interesting thing to dream about. I know what this house looked like when it was built though so there's so way it was a mansion nor did it almost look like a fancy hotel. Certainly no elegant water fountain in front of my room. :sad3: maybe one day
Anyway, if you found that interesting let me know what you thought - otherwise feel free to post your dream(s) from your Dreamscape down below!

I did my masters dissertation on ancient Greek beliefs about dreaming, and I have wanted a dream log on this site for years and kept putting off making one in favour of writing about them in other threads which never really encompassed the full scope of dreams like this can. I'm glad you've made one now.

Anyway, last night I had a particularly restless night. The Oneiroi were very busy with me last night. I had multiple dreams, but my act of writing them down also immortalises the ones I can remember before they fade forever.

Dream 1: This was a surreal one and I have already forgotten most of the details. What I do recall was I was simultaneously on a rig of some sort in the middle of the ocean, but also sometimes at home. There were people (sometimes adults, sometimes kids, my mind couldn't decide and was not consistent). I cannot recall. I was trying to tie stuff together on the rig, but one of the people/kids(?) was unruly and putting people in danger and I had to take them outside (because, all of a sudden I was home and taking them outside the front door) and stand on them to prevent them from killing people or something. I had to call for back-up so that I could return to my task. I have no idea? The general feeling was that I needed to do something and it was important, but couldn't do it because of this obstacle, and that I lacked any control over the situation. But the details elude me. What also stands out, and I have no explanation for this, is that the dream appeared to end with the statement: "Jesus ate people and is a zombie". I guess my dream-mind there was thinking of the Last Supper speech and combining it with the Resurrection, but I have no answers to that. Somebody else said that in the dream and I think there was a philosophical pause as the dream ended. Weird dream, and I have no idea how that ties in with the rig plotline. Too many plot holes in that.

Dream 2: I am in the woods and find a hollowed out, dead tree. There is a child inside the tree about the same age as my niece (about 8 years old). I examine the tree, see the child, and when I step a bit to the right and get a different angle the face all of a sudden becomes blank. And by blank I do not mean her expression. I mean she all of a sudden has no eyes, nose, mouth, ears, etc. All that remains is a mannequin-like shape covered in flesh where the face had been. That's the dream.

Dream 3: More of an auditory hallucination, this one. This one woke me up this morning. I heard growling at the foot of my bed. Like the growling of some terrible beast. I woke up to that noise. I didn't dare check whether the beast was real or not. I suspect not, otherwise I would have been devoured when I went to get my breakfast.

So what do we make of those dreams? Is everything fine? :thehead:

I'm going to record another dream before I forget it. I made some notes this morning but I had another weird dream last night.

I was walking through either a shopping centre or an airport. It wasn't clear. But I was on an upper level which led outside (with other levels being lower down). There was a see-through bannister/railing, etc, and I was on a walkway. If I was to look down I probably would have seen a floor below. Etc etc.

Anyway, I was walking towards the double doors that led outside, and the light was shining in through them. There was a guy just in front of these doors being playing panpipes and being photographed for what looked like an official photoshoot of sorts. I was trying to avoid being the background of the photographs, but I also needed to get through the doors. But as I got closer, he then started to cut himself and he bled profusely. The photographer, rather than help, instead was more eager to take photographs. As I walked by them the guy being photographed collapsed and died, but the photographs kept coming. As I stepped through the door into the outside, my mind was in a flash transported to a gallery which showcased the finished piece: three photographs in a line. One showed the guy as he did when he was playing the panpipes (alive, creative, happy). The next showed the guy beaten and bleeding but still living. The last showed the guy dead.

Very weird. Everything is fine. :thehead:

I've written about these before but wanted to go ahead and properly write them out. Both were one of my sleep paralysis dreams:

Dream One: I was home alone this night in particular and fell asleep after running around shopping. The dream was almost entirely all black and white aside from my own self, and I recall walking into this very old building also made up entirely of black and white. I was in this room and as I had walked in a bunch of people turned to look at me, only they had no faces. They looked like these Amish ceramic doll figures my grandmother used to have decorated around her house, same pose and all, except their entire bodies were made of a black porcelain. The only thing not black about them was this small pattern on their stomachs that showed through a tiny bit of underneath the black, like you could almost see through them? They weren't really talking to me but unintelligibly whispering to themselves as if they were talking about me. I woke up immediately after this and remember feeling this pressure just pressing me down into the bed, hence the paralysis part of the dream. I've never experienced actual paralysis before this, most of my dreams like this kind are otherwise just happening while my eyes are open, I can still move around and stuff. It took me a while to snap out of that pressure and eventually get up and move around. It's still kinda creepy whenever I think about it.

Dream Two: Speaking of another sleep paralysis dream, minus the paralysis, I remembered this dream. I remember trying to fall asleep for a while, and at some point I must have, but I must have stirred from sleep because I opened my eyes to where my closet is and instead of my closet I saw this figure standing next to me, right up next to my head. It looked like a girl with really long black hair. It's arms were all contorted up and holding onto it's head/hair and face as it stared down at me with one eye through its messy hair. I remember feeling this jolt of shock as I closed my eyes and rolled over. I tapped on my husband's shoulder to wake him up and asked him 'Is there someone behind me?' :tearjoy: Freaked him out a bit but he looked and told me no one was there. I must have known I was asleep but I wanted the reassurance, sometimes brain-fog takes over the logic part of the brain. I've only ever saw one 'figure' before that night though, it was like some shadow dragon thing, but nothing really worth posting about. Usually it's just hair, thread or bugs that I see when I'm experiencing that.... But this one time in particular really scared me. Took a while to go back to sleep. 😬

I mean she all of a sudden has no eyes, nose, mouth, ears, etc. All that remains is a mannequin-like shape covered in flesh where the face had been. That's the dream.
