Dragon Quest X confirmed for the Wii

During a SE press conference yesterday where they were annoucing the final release date in Japan for DQIX they also let it be known for the first time that the tenth title in the main Dragon Quest series will be developed for the Wii.

I'd imagine that some people will be upset over this but I think this is pretty damn awesome.

Omg, this means I definately need to get a Wii now, how very typical. I'l have a full bloody set soon, Im sick of having to buy every console just for one or 2 games, although I'm not getting an xbox seeing as danny just sold his and that would be foolish

I kind of doubt it'll be on anything else, this isn't like FFXIII since the Wii already has the user base in Japan and Worldwide to make this worth being exclusive. Saying that it's SE so you never know but I personally wouldn't bet on it.

DQ traditionally goes onto the most popular console which is the reason why DQIX is in the DS. Moving the series to the Wii does seem like the logical next step.

Hmmmm I never played dragon quest before. What is it like? Hmmm this just looks amazing maybe I should buy the dragon quest series. Is it like Final Fantasy?

Well, I'll most likely get it. I already have a DS so I can get Dragon Quest IX, and I really DO need to use my Wii more, so I can get Dragon Quest X for the Wii xD

It's kinda irritating that the platform keeps jumping around but...Dragon Quest is more for Nintendo now anyway, since IV and V are out for DS...and I think VI too?

Yeah, VI is going to be on the DS as well...I wonder how pretty the penny that Ninny threw SE's way to not only get DQX on the Wii, but to announce it not only before DQIX is even out, but right before Christmas too...If anyone in Japan didn't already own one, you can bet your ass that Wii sales will skyrocket now that they know the main DQ series (they already released DQ games for the Wii before) is going to be on it.
