Rumor: DOOM 4 screenshots leaked
Bethesda: Doom 4 is not canceled.
by Sal Romano [@salromano] at 01:36 PM EST, February 28, 2012 .

Some DOOM 4 ‘developments’ today. Korean game site Playwares posted a portfolio of screenshots said to be from DOOM 4, supposedly shared by the game’s ex-director.
Courtesy of Dresden, the Playwares post reads:
Not official. It’s a portfolio uploaded piece-by-piece by the ex-director.
The title being used is “Doom,” but it could change, don’t know what’s official and what could be changed later on.
The atmosphere is very similar to Rage, so the fear is that the graphics will raise some problems later on.
Doom’s background was always space, but this time, it appears to be on Earth.
PC and XBOX360, PS3 are being targeted, unlike Rage it won’t be locked at 30 fps (PC version is perhaps 60 frames?)
The plan is to have lots of monsters from past Doom games appear in the game.
A post went up on 4Chan today claiming the game was canceled, and posted the Playwares screenshots unsourced. Bethesda has since told Game Informer’s Jim Reilly that DOOM 4 is not canceled, though, did not confirm or deny the validity of the screenshots, which we’ve posted below.

Thanks, NeoGAF.

Rumor – More purported screens of Doom 4 emerge

Another round of purported images from Doom 4 have surfaced on AGB.

Bethesda has yet to confirm with us whether yesterday’s shots were actually related to the game or not, and we’ve sent a mail regarding these as well.
The firm confirmed yesterday that Doom 4 was still in development, contradicting AGB’s posting of the cancellation.
DSO gaming has also posted some building renders and the first leaked music tracks from the game which have reportedly come from id Software’s senior environment artist Thao Le who worked on RAGE and Doom 4.
The site says all of the leaked shots hitting the net were part of his portfolio and the assets number around 170.
The site is also suggesting DOOM 4 could be a remake of Doom 2.
