Not sure whether to put this in the Music area, but it's mostly about Donkey Kong so...
When thinking of music composers in video games, we think of Nobuo Uematsu, Shoji Meguro, Yasunori Mitsuda, Koichi Sugiyama etc; mainly Japanese ones.
I'd like to share with you one of my favourite video game music composers, David Wise, who is British. He worked for Rare, and created the soundtracks for the Donkey Kong Country series.
Those who have played the games will know about the relaxing, atmospheric music. One of my motivations of not dying was so that the music doesn't get interrupted.
He wrote other soundtracks too, such as Diddy Kong racing, Battletoads, Sesame Street for the NES etc.
Here are some examples, separated by the games:
Donkey Kong Country 1:
Donkey Kong Country 2 (my personal favourite):
Donkey Kong Country 3:
Battletoads:
Diddy Kong Racing:
and loads more... I might as well post the entire DKC2 soundtrack.
So yeah, great composer. and while we're at it, any Donkey Kong-related memories?
