Do you think the end of the Final Fantasy series is near?

I love Final Fantasy, I just can't live without it and I hope Square keeps on making more and more games but how long do you think this series is going to continue? It seems that the more Square continues, the games gets worse. I mean they may already be running out of ideas. I just hope Square keeps on creating more and more Final Fantasy games, but one day they're going to have to hang the towel up and say good bye to Final Fantasy (which everyone would hate). All I'm trying to say is we've got to prepare for the worst... how long do you think it will be before Square hangs up the towel?

As long as the games continue being highly original like they are, it will continue. Only then, and when the sales drop will the series end.

Yes but what if the upcoming titles, such as FFXII, XIII, Before Crisis, etc weren't that much of a success? Does that still mean it's the end of Final Fantasy? I better hope not.

I really wouldn't mind, if FF did end; I just hope they design a game to be that end. Where all the past Final Fantasy characters like meet up with an ingenious plot where all them are required to save the Universe or something...

Or perhaps a Final Fantasy Rumble game? Like that DBZ: Budokai game...

Listen, as long as the FF franchise is a multi-billion worth idea, FF will never end. Imagination is endless, new ideas are fresh in all fans. They could run a competition, getting as many ideas from fans as possible, with a reward.

Any idea of a story SE comes up with, they can stick "Final Fantasy" infront of the newest roman numeral and create a new final fantasy game. FF is not specific to a character with an overly large sword using fire magic on a tiger, it's an eternal idea, one that will never die.
