LOL I am so not independent. I still live with my parents and haven't had a real job in god knows how long.

I've tried to live on my own a few times but it hasn't turned out well. Renting an apartment around here is fucking expensive and the 2 times I tried with having a roommate, they both turned out to be even more irresponsible than me and didn't pay the rent on time, etc...

I hate to say it but it's a hell of a lot easier to live with my parents, and they don't seem to mind cause since I'm here I do everyone's laundry, get everyone's mail, do all the dishes, vacuuming, etc....Pretty much I'm the 'housewife' now xDD I plan on being more independent and actually getting my ass in gear in the near future, but I'll probably still be living with my parents cause I'm sorry, it's not worth having your own place if you have to work 7 days a week working on minimum wage to have it. Fuck that.

I'll move out when I actually get a real career going.

I change that "in most respects" to "in all respects". I am 21 years old, paying for my own schooling, my own bills, my own car, my own apartment, and my own groceries. Both my parents live in different states from me and I work full time as well as go to school full time. If that isn't responsible, then what is?

Uh...oh boy. I like to think I'm indepedent. I like to think in the "I'm a big girl and can do everything" mentality...but then reality taps me on the shoulder. My parents pay for my college, give me spending money, and I live in their house when I go home for the summer. So no, I'm not very independent, at least financially. However, I'm taking 18 credits and have an internship that takes up all my free time, so it's not like I can go out and get a job. Plus, they've told me several times that they don't want me getting a job because education is more important, and I don't need a job distracting me. :p And I nod and say "okay" because I don't wanna get a job :D

Once I get my car, I'm definitely going to be doing my own thing most of the time.

But, I'll always be home for supper. Until I'm off to college, anyway. Some things in life I just don't want to miss until I have to. Homecooked meals, help with schoolwork...that kind of thing.

I'm definately independent I moved out of my mums when I was 16, wouldn't want it anyother way although it does get boring sometimes & I often wish I never moved out of my mums because It was such an easy life haha. I know I could never move back tho, I've lived on my own too long and I'd miss being able to what I want when I want (Admittedly I moved back twice when I was uber skint - but that only lasted a couple of months each time before I was off on my own again). All I need to do now is learn how too bloody drive. That car has been sat on my drive for 18 months now and STILL I haven't bothered to have lessons lol. I'm FAR too bone idle

i'd say im pretty independent. i have my own job and buy all my own stuff, including the car i bought and the gas i pay for. my mom took care of me all my life, i guess its almost my turn to take over. though she will be paying for my college :monster:
