Well it is into the new year now, and a new year of video games ahead, some good, some great, and some just plain stinkers. Disgaea 4? Definitely shaping up to be one of the great games of the year.

Set for release on February 24th in Japan, but still just Q2 2011 for NA, so no exact date for NA on it yet, but it's release gets closer every second, and there should be lots of word of it once it is out in Japan and many have played it, of that I am sure.

So discuss Nippon Ichi Software's latest Disgaea masterpiece in the works here, and if somebody finds out the NA release date, definitely do bring it to the attention of those who read this thread by posting it in it, because I wanna pre-order it, and I am sure plenty of other gamers do too. :wacky:

To start out, what do you think of the more Animé style sprites? Aye or Nay? :P

Well I 'll be looking for it.I am a big Disgaea fan.I hope it's funny yet enthralling enough to make the game compelling.
Of course Laharl, Etna and the other main characters had better be in it.

I think they probably will be, but likely just in some stuff that happens after you beat the main "final boss" of the game, who or whatever that may be.

But yeah, as of Christmas, I have Disgaea 1, 2, and 3, so I am a huge fan and definitely got something to show for it now, as I have gotten all the add-ons for Disgaea 2 on my PSP, too. :D

Though it would cost a fortune to get everything downloadable for Disgaea 3. X_x I appreciate what I get, which is pure, hardcore gaming greatness, gotta love it.

I think the ability to be able to have two monsters combine to become one huge one is awesome, and that they can then magichange with someone to make for insane weapon possibilities. :monster:

Oh, and humor wise, I have no doubt this game will deliver on being thoroughly entertaining in that area, Disgaea does excel at it after all.

i'm surprised there aren't more SRPG fans around FFF. Disgaea is up there with Fire Emblem as my favorite SRPG.

Definitely looking forward to this one, I hope it's less clunky than Disgaea 3 was... I much prefered 1 and 2 on the PSP, and the storylines were much better. Still, I've read that they've learned from Disgaea 3, so I'm hoping that this one will be as excellent as 1 and 2 are.

I really love the new art style too, it makes everything look better.

Indeed it does, sometimes it makes me just wanna stare at it, and not in a real intimidating way, like this: :vikki:

These are three more videos of Disgaea 4, time for everyone to get psyched out of their minds. I hope. I know I am. xD

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sy6Ag3_hIA This is the opening, get yourself to checkin' it out. :D

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBeUlTQNMwo Some voiced cutscenes from the game, though they are all in Japanese, of course...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyu2ASZQKpo A gameplay video over six full minutes in length! Time to get hardcore, and badass.

Looks alright so far, I like the resemblance that the character has to Laharl.

But let's just hope we don't end up with another Mao. I usually like the voice of the guy who did Edward's voice from Fullmetal Alchemist, but when you mix that with the zany antics and comedic nature of Disgaea... eh, I think I'd rather listen to Naruto say "Believe it" after every sentence for 5 hours than play the game.
