I saved him but he had to eat like 30 fish. I will probally never do it again unless it gives you something good. Does the esper you find on the beach afterwards depend on if you save him or not?

I think the only difference saving Cid/letting him die makes is you get a different scene, that is it. The one where you let him die is FAR superior to the one where he lives.

Exactly why I prefer to let him die. Feed him the slow fish, and you have a better story. Feed him the fast healthy fish and he lives, but the story suffers.
